Which room size and view do you have reserved? With DVC points, it's standard view, pool/garden view or boardwalk view. With CRO reservations, all are booked as standard view but usually get pool/garden.

We were able to see the epcot fireworks from our patio, and we were on the first floor, in a boardwalk view villa. I would imagine that higher rooms would have been able to see more. We could also hear the music, but, as far as I could tell, it's not piped in, like it is for the Magic Kingdom fireworks at Grand Floridian. We had the last room on the furthest side from Epcot.

If you have the garden/pool view you will not see Epcot from the room unless both (a) you have a studio, and (b) you make a request for a Village Green view and high floor and are lucky enough to get it. Those studios have partial boardwalk view and can see high fireworks from Epcot. All the other garden/pool view rooms look away from Epcot toward Swan and the channel leading toward Studios.

On our recent Holiday trip DH discovered that from the Boardwalk benches down by Atlantic Dance and Jelly Rolls there is an excellent view of the high Epcot fireworks. Music isn't piped in, but after all our trips this was a big discovery! :woohoo:

Another tip is about boat travel to DHS. If you have just missed the boat to DHS, hoof it quickly to the Swan/Dolphin. You will catch the Friendship boat. And you can exit the boat there and walk 5 minutes back to Boardwalk and save about 7 to 10 minutes of time riding the boat on return from the Studios.

Laundry is on the first floor down by Muscles and Bustles.

Hello everyone!
Are you able to walk to Epcot from the BWV's? If so, how long does it take?
We stayed at BLT in 2011 and enjoyed the walk to/from MK.
Thanks and Happy New Year!

It is about 5-10 minutes to walk to Epcot and about 10-15 minutes to walk to the studios. You can also take the boat, but that takes much longer because of all the stops.

We stay on the 4th floor, garden view. With that we can see some of the fireworks from Epcot.

The boat does take longer. DH and I have bet the boat to Epcot on most occasions.

If you walk or take the boat to Epcot, you will arrive at the International Gateway Entrance at the back of Epcot, near England.

This area was directly outside our room, and I thought that the fireworks were framed nicely from our room, which was on the first floor

Our room was the last on the hallway near Jelly Rolls, and we also discovered that it was closer and faster to walk over to the Swan/Dolphin for the Hollywood studios boat. The door to the Boardwalk was directly outside ours, and so, we could get there very easily.

IMO. Definitely boat to studios, it is a bit of a walk, especially since you'll be walking all day. If boat is handy works fine for Epcot since it makes no stops.

We stay on the 4th floor, garden view. With that we can see some of the fireworks from Epcot.

The only garden view with an Epcot fireworks view would be studios facing the Village Green. The rest face the Swan/Dolphin, main pool, quiet pool.

A couple of ideas on stay.
1- Bell Vue lounge quiet spot for a drink, also serves coffee bad breakfast items in AM (bagels etc)
2- hotel courtyard pool and gardens are a nice distraction, located where hotel cottages are.
3- boardwalk entertainers at night are fun to watch.
4- besides boardwalk bakery, bakery in France opens up early, before rest of the countries.
5- BWV pool bar is limited with menu. New pool bar at beach club has bar and larger menu. While you can not go to pool, bar is accessible to all and has tables.
6- if taking boat back from studios you can get off at swan/dolphin and walk to backside of Boardwalk quicker than boat.
7- many people post complaints about walk to elevators, personally I prefer being away from elevators, less guests walking by room and making noise.
8- not a big fan of big river restaurant or espn, we prefer to walk over to Epcot for dinner, or drinks, or dessert.

I'll add - find your room then find the closest set of stairs. Take them and find out where you end up. Figure out how to get to the Boardwalk, pool and the bus stop from there. It may be MUCH faster than the hallway elevator combination (and I'll bet it will be faster for at least one or those, but probably not all).

Do find that courtyard pool and gardens - its possibly the best "secret spot" in all of WDW.

The BW is one of the resorts with a community hall, we've never made much use of it, but it may be worth checking out the activities if you won't be doing a commando park trip and are looking for something different.

in addition to the above:
- fantasia gardens mini-golf is a short walk away (across the street from swan).
- the bridge between the BW & BC is another nice spot for viewing illuminations
- the balcony off the back of the lobby and the little nook beneath it, are just lovely, quiet spots to relax/read
- bikes are available to rent, tennis courts, ping-pong, etc
- jellyrolls, ADH, surrey bikes, carny games, performers are some of the nighttime options
- make sure to stop, look, and enjoy the many amazing details (lucy the elephant, the working carousel, images of tink flitting on the carpeting, "smell-o-vision;)", etc)
