Anyone tried the Hawaii Food & Wine festival?

I’m in the early stages of planning a dream trip (no set dates) and fall is a good time for us to travel. Wondering if anyone has visited during the Hawaii Food & Wine festival - believe it takes place over multiple days in Oct and on different islands but there look to be a few days on Oahu and one dinner on the beach in Ko Olina. Wondering if anyone has attended any of the events and if they’re worth planning around. Or on the flip side if crowds and disruption make it a time to try to avoid. We’re long-time fans of the Epcot festival but they cut back on events/special dinners and thought this could potentially be an alternative. Would love to hear thoughts from anyone who has attended in the past or visited while it was going on. Tons of great advice here that is helping us plan! Thank you!!

as long as you don’t decide against it after seeing the prices...it should be close to whats been offfered at epcot food and wine events. with the event being outdoors, and chefs from asia (or asian influenced chefs) being a bit more common than in epcot. (pretty sure those $600 tickets should provide something “better”...but dunno if it would be worth it) those epcot events were kinda cheap compared to the koolina one.

just like with the epcot events the quality and variety will be mostly dependent upon which chefs end up being at the event etc.

I believe the koolina event runs at night/late afternoon...and theres not all that much happening at the reaorts anyway at that time. (although its possible some halloween type activity might happen at aulani, or there might be a luau at aulani or paradise cove)

the tickets are limited...and unless they change how many they’re selling it shouldn’t be more crowded than an event like the party for the senses at epcot.

only been to a couple of the epcot events a few years ago...but have heard mostly good things about the koolina one from people I know.
