April 2012: NY & Orlando - Take 2

perhaps rent a car , go to santa monica pier and shops and that you can keep most of your non expensive items of hand luggage in the trunk?

ps: i dont think there is storage on site but there are some companies who offer pick up/drop off luggage storage close by.

Hi toystory! Looks like we will be at POR at the same time (im going for my honeymoon, im so excited) noticed that you mentioned in an earlier post that you couldn't get the current discount on POR? I am booked into the royal room and I called them and asked for the discount and they refunded the difference back on to my credit card - I think it was about $600. Maybe it's worth giving it another go. You'll want that cash for NYC!

Hi, I was able to apply this discount when I tried again. What date do you check in? Did you see the photos of the RR in the POR thread?

We check in on the 15th of April and leave on the 23rd. What are your dates? I did see the pictures it looks so nice! I think the headboards with the led fireworks are going to be so cool! I really can't wait. I really want to know which building we're going to be in. I don't particularly mind either way. Have you done all of your dining reservations?

We check in on the 20th and out on the 28th - so we may see you there :)

Will you be wearing a 'celebration - honeymoon badge?'
DD will wear a birthday badge on her lanyard.

I made our dining reservations at 180 days out, DD had requested some that she really wanted to do again.
Day 1: Dinner at Sanaa
Day 2: Dinner at Crystal Palace
Day 3: Dinner at Akershus Royal Table
Day 4: Fantasmic Lunch Package at Mama Melrose and Supper at Sci-Fi
Day 5: Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare
Day 6: Dinner at Ohana
Day 7: Lunch at Tusker House
Day 8: Dinner at Chef de France

We will most certainly be wearing our honeymoon badge! I've waiting 10 years for this to happen ha ha ha :rotfl2:

Hope all goes well with your wedding. Maybe we will bump into you at POR!

We have 17 sleeps to go. Suitcases are out, and some of the summer clothes have been thrown in. I am trying to sort out the itinerary, but DD needs the main computer for homework. It will get done.

27 days :dance3:

As Lion King is returning to Australia, we decided to book tickets to Wicked on Broadway.

I have also submitted request for Martha Stewart tickets again, we would really like to do this again as it is interesting to see the 'behind the scenes' of the production of a television show.

The house sitter is organised, and we have purchased pharmaceuticals (we struggled with horse tranquilliser size cold and flu tablets on the last trip). We will probably pull the suitcases out of storage this weekend.

We still have about 8 hours at LAX on our return trip - not sure if we should plan something or not. Is there any luggage storage for our hand luggage at LAX?

Wicked on Broadway is amazing!! Enjoy :)

Another day, another flight change. Virgin flight has been pushed back 40 minutes, which means we would not have made our connection in LAX to JFK. So that flight has been pushed back three hours, alloying us a more relaxed process through customs etc.

I had already booked the first bus to do the transfers from Sydney to Canberra, I looked to try and change the bus, but with Greyhound the next bus time-slot would still not get us into Sydney on time, so we still have a 4.15am bus booked.

I am going to get the 30 day pass for the Delta lounges - has anyone used the lounge at LAX or MCO?

I haven't used the Delta lounge but I intend to once we arrive in LAX to have a shower and freshen up. I will be interested in your experience. :)

wow .. those single digit countdowns are exciting!! NY and Orlando are amazing and you will have a wonderful time!!

wishing you all the very best for your journey -- can't wait to see your TR when you come back!!

I haven't been around for a while but I can't believe it's April already! Very excited for you!

Thanks everyone I can't believe it is nearly April either.

Our only disappointing news has been not getting Martha Tickets, I think because I sid 'no' to the first dates I locked myself out of the next weeks. When the "Audience Specialist' suggested I apply for another round, I was not sure if she realised the commute from Australia would take longer than the TV Shooting.

Last day at work today, which is always a great feeling. DD has packed her bag tonight, she has homework still to do and a test on Monday.

We will be cleaning the house for the hose sitter, and organising all the paperwork. I did the wake in the middle of the night thing last night, panicked that I had not got the passports out yet. :confused3
