best sites for Vegas trip?

I'm new to the Vegas Scene...lol I have never been to Vegas and I was just told that I will be going in November for a week for a seminar I have no clue what are the best sites to get the best rates on hotels and tickets. I am interested in Cirque Du Solil shows. I definately want to see the Chris Angel show and my DH loves Nascar and he will be joining me over the weekend. Any and all advice on sites to look up rates/packages/discounts would be awesome

BTW I have a Costco & AAA membership if that helps any.

Vegas.com is a good place to start. It will show you the shows that available, as well as hotel/casinos and other various activities.

Also, look at the hotel sites directly. Sign up for the players cards. You can get some good deals on room rates.

If your seminar is at a hotel call and ask for their rates for that timeframe specifying the name of the seminar you are there for. They most likely will have a discounted rate. You also won't have to worry about getting there early in the morning in time for things to start.

If you've never been you will want to just spend a lot of time seeing the sites. Wear a watch because there are no clocks!

Unfortunately my sseminar/class is not in a hotel its in a training center so that wont work for me. Can ypu suggest any specific hotels?

What kind of hotels are you looking for? What kind of budget do you have? Some of them can get rather pricey like Bellagio, Venetian and Caesars to name a few.

I would like to stay somewhere somewhat nice atleast a 3 star hotel like hampton inn or embassy suites quality. I'm not looking for a $300 a night hotel maybe more in the $160 range if possible but I mainly want to look for sites where I can review the different hotels & prices & am hoping to find a good deal. This is for the first week of Nov for 2 people for 2 nights & like 1 person for 6 nights.

For your first time I definitely recommend staying on the strip! A $160 average is totally doable, just know that room rates nearly double on Friday and Saturday night. I just looked online, however, and it looks like room rates for the first week of November are almost twice the rates of the second week so wondering if there's a huge convention?

Southwest.com tends to have good deals on hotels even if you aren't flying with them.

I stay at the Desert Rose which is awesome, it is located right behind Hooters and Tropicana. They offer free breakfast. It is one and two bedrooms. Pool, Jacuzzi, full kitchen. Laundry. You can look at the site.

May I recomend Luxor. Depending on what week your there in Nov. nightly rates in the pyramid are averaging $65/night. We've stayed there 5 times so far and have enjoyed it each time. Luxor is also literally across the street ( Las Vegas Blvd. ) from the airport ( 7 minutes from taxi boarding to hotel ).
