Hi everyone ~ I am writing to you all from my home in Toronto and it was a nice stress-free trip home ~ well, except for Rash-Boy.

This morning we did not get up until after 9:00am, I was all packed and ready to go so I called bell services to get our luggage to hold for an hour. The bellman arrived with 2 bottles of water in a african themed gift bag with a little thank you card for staying at AKL and wishing us a good journey home.

I had one last look off the balcony and there was a sole giraffe down there crunching on some leaves. It was a very peaceful sight :) to see and then we headed up for our last breakfast in the kilamanjaro club.

Besides breakfast - I also had some business to attend to up there. My Beach Club stay was the Fairytale package, however my AKL stay was the Canadian at par deal which was 744.00 for 3 nights and on the bill they left on my door they had it at 930.00 for 3 nights.

I spoke with Angie at the desk and she said they are constantly having problems with the Canadian at Par rates - anyway, she corrected it and credited my visa 185.00.

During Breakfast I gave SuAnne a quick call... she said she was wearing jeans and a long sleeve shirt - so different from Florida in August. Noel made a last trip down to the gift shop while I finished my coffee and came up with some more pez and her last pin of the trip.

At 11:00am we said our goodbyes to the concierge staff and made our way down to claim our luggage at the Bell Desk. Our towncar from Happy Limo was waiting and it was a quick trip to the airport.

Orlando Airport is so civilized, there are skylights and trees, benches and restaurants.... Toronto Airport is how I imagine Moscow airport must be, cold and barron with cinderblock walls painted drab colours.

We arrived at the gate with plenty of time to spare and Noel and I watched half of Shrek before it was time to board our flight. Sitting in the departure lounge I noticed a man sitting a few rows down from us who was all broken out in hives and boils... yuck.

He had a large glass bottle of something and some swabs - like make up removal pads... and he kept swabbing at his sores and blisters... double yuck... Boy I would really hate to sit next to that guy.... ewwwww

So now it is time for boarding... Noel and I hang back as what is the point of storming the plane to stand in line some more as people slowly settle themselves in.

We pass row 12 and I am looking ahead to see row 19, the plane is 3 seats and 3 seats with one aisle and I see someone is in our row already... anyone care to guess who I am sitting next to?

Blister boy, Lepar Man, Mr. Boils... yup, he is my seat mate for the next 2 1/2 hours... I ask Noel if I can have the window and she sit in the centre next to him and she says no way!

So Mr. Fester gets up to let us in and he is sort of moaning and complaining about having to move... I could only see his forearms and neck.. I can't imagine what was oozing under his shirt. Yuck.

So we chat politely, as politely you can chat with a Lepar, and he tells me he has a rash... as if I didn't notice? :p I see the bottle is "Witch Hazel" and he continues to apply it to himself all through the flight, well until he fell asleep and started LEANING on me.

We arrived in Toronto right on time and had a nice view of the CN Tower and Skydome as we came in. There was an air show today and the Canadian National Exhibition and I saw the snow birds off in the distance.

We said goodbye to puss-boy and made our way through customs, luggage was off pretty quick and I think I may have seen "Mortlives" from the DIS Boards, there was a couple with a teenage boy and the man had 3 port orleans refillable mugs hanging from his belt.. I am pretty sure it was them :)

We caught a airport limo home to hugs from Paul, "welcome home" on my screensaver :) and affectionate pets.

The driver was really flirty - but may have just wanted a bigger tip. Noel told him I was divorced and he was asking me questions about if I am with someone now.. etc.. and telling Noel that he would date me... ick!

I think I would rather date Mr. Boil from the flight.

So we are home safe and sound now - tomorrow it is back to school and work and reality and laundry and groceries.. all those fun things.

Had a super trip - even with the Chicken Puke Pie incident  BC was very nice but cannot hold a candle to AKL Concierge. Sunrise Safari is an excellent experience.

Parks were not too busy, for us half days are the way to go ~ it is hot in August but great for swimming, I would hate to go and have it be too cold and rainy for the pools.

Universal was great, FOTL access rules... The Hard Rock Club Level is a joke... I would stay regular from now on, it has nothing to do with money... it has everything to do with overcrowded lounges and inferior offerings (ie) chips ahoy and oreos. I would rather starve then fight someone for a bagel.

Disney Transportation was outstanding, with only the occasional delay.

Overall I was happy with restaurant meals everywhere... Chef Mickey's was much better than I expected and Beaches and Cream not as good as I exprected.

By the way I did my good deed of the day today - I had 2 left over connections vouchers (the ones that give you lunch, drink & dessert) I overheard someone inthe lounge saying they were going over to B&C for lunch today and I gave her my vouchers to use... she was thrilled as she has 3 teenage boys  who eat alot.

It was great to spend time with SuAnne and Hayley and meet MikeJ and Scratch42. I did not see any lime ribbons anywhere during the trip...

Thanks for reading my reports and let me know if you have any questions about anything.

Until next time.... Good night from Toronto

Glad to see that you made it home. I think I would've freaked next to pussboy (disgusting). It was great reading all of your reports, you've definately got good writing skills and made me laugh several times. Thanks for sharing your great vacation.

I can't believe you're home. I want to cry!:( No more trip reports to read.

Do you think you could just do "life" reports from Canada?:D

So, where are you going next year?

I thought for sure you would report that you had been upgraded to a suite at AKL. I just had that feeling but maybe they were booked.

Did the guy on the plane tell you what the rash was? Yuck!

Rash Boy!!! Oh that sounds like something that would happen to me, not you on a flight. Hayley and I have been laughing our heads off at your description. That sounds even worse than the guy with bad hair plugs, snotty nose and B.O. that I had to sit with on a flight from England one time.

I sure don't know what I can add to the trip reports you have already done, but I'll get too it and post my "Adventures With Cass & Noel" within the next couple of days!

Have a good sleep in your own bed tonight kiddo!

I enjoyed your trip reports! You and Noel made some wonderful memories! Thanks for sharing them with us.

Cassie ~

Glad that you and Noel arrived home safe and sound.

Pussboy sounds like someone I dated when I was 18!!LOL!!!

I have really enjoyed reading your trip reports.

Hi Cassie. Welcome Home. I have really enjoyed reading your trip reports. You sound like you have the same kind of luck I do. "No Luck". I mean what were the odds of you sitting next to that guy. lol

I hope that you will be posting pictures from this trip. Your web site is great.

Take care.

:)

I've enjoyed your trip reports! Thanks for posting.

I have to admit that I once had to fly home with a rash like "rash boy's." I ate something that made me break out into hives. It was absolutely horrible having to explain it to people. I would say it was from something that I ate, but you could always tell that they didn't quite believe me. :p Of course, that was also the trip that a little girl puked through the seat behind me. I had a horrible rash AND had vomit in my hair! LMAO! My parents weren't quite sure what happened to me when they saw me get off the plane.

I have a VERY strong stomach but I was sitting at my desk eating cheetos and my stomach did a complete summersault reading your description of PUSS BOY...... That is nasty!!!!! I think I would have spent most of the flight sitting in the bathroom just to get away from him:rolleyes:
Thanks for the great reports!!!!!!

Cassie and Noel

Thank you for letting us take this trip with you. I had a wonderful time.

PS When's your next trip ;)

Cassie,

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your trip reports.

What magical memories you have made with your daughter.....I wish I too could do that with mine but i think the boys would have something to say if i did:eek:

Try not to be too disheartened about being back home and back to work. Just read your trip reports and relive your fabulous holiday again and again....thats what I've done!

Galaxy

:)

Thanks for sharing! I had a REALLY rough week, with starting grad school (after being home for six years) and with DS starting Kindergarten. This week I feel a little more calm....

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!;)

Thank you Cassie for posting! Your trip reports really helped me with some planning, and let me live vicariously through you while I wait for my counter clock to slowly tick to 0 days 0 hours.

And double eeewwwwwww to pus boy- yuck!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks very much Cassie for sharing you and Noel's adventures, I truly enjoyed them!

I've looked forward to reading your trip reports everyday. Thanks for sharing them with us and I'm glad you made it home safe and sound. :D

Loved every single one of your reports. You should be a writer. You really have a knack for wording.

One question- Will you be updating your website with pictures from your trip both at Universal and Disney?

I love checking it from time to time and would love to see pictures to go with the great reports!!!!

Hi spidey, yes I will be updating my website with a Hard Rock and Beach Club Page... but not for a couple of weeks.. I have to get back into a routine here, you know... with regular life stuff :)

>>^..^<<

Thanks so much for all the informative trip reports. I have been following them since the first one. My husband was even enjoying reading them and asking if you had updated each night. It's so nice to relive memories through someone else. It was even nicer that you updated while you were there. It gave us a sense of being there too! It was also nice because with each of your posts it meant my long weekend excursion was that much closer.

You mean there is life after vacation??? LOL....

Hope you get everything done you need to and will wait for your website updates!

Thanks!
