Today is post #1 and pretty much to get this started. I started a more sensible watch of what I'm eating and started working out at Jazzercise on July 1 as well. My dd is also doing this with me due to a bad report from her doctor (she has really gained a lot of weight). I come from a family with a lot of overweight/obese people. I've battled it my whole life but now I am tired of battling it - well, tired of losing the battle. There are a lot of other reasons why I need to do this but right now I need to focus on actually doing it.
I'm coming here for support more for when I get discouraged. I really beat myself and tend to have a poor self-esteem which has gotten better over the years.
As of July 1 - in the first week I gained 2.5 pounds. I've been told it was possibly water weight and some of the fat turning to muscle already. The second week I lost those 2.5 pounds and right now I'm where I was on July 1. So technically I've lost nothing.
I'm really watching what I'm putting in my mouth and making sure I move more and drink more water. I have cut out 500 calories, possibly more, right now. That's a HUGE start for me. I'm also watching fat grams more than I am carb grams, although watching those too. Not ready to go back to WW but have been there - MANY times.
My first goal is to get 5 pounds off for July so I joined the July loss challenge. Once I hit that then it will be 10 in August. Then we'll go from there. My hope is to get 25 off by Thanksgiving and possibly 35 off before we go to WDW in December. I'm VERY hopeful because my dd and I are doing this together.
