Hey all! here is our new home.

DDA originally stood for Disney Design Addicts as most of the posters were addicted to making t-shirt designs. Those designers are still here and many many more people have joined our friendly community. We think that DDA still fits whether you be a Disney Design Addict, Dear Disney Addict, Disney Dream-aholics, Disney Dream Addicts or whatever other acronyms you'd like to throw in there.

Welcome to all the returning posters and welcome to any newcomers that might like to chat about design and all things Disney.

Copied from Deb because she worded it so well.

:wave2: Decided to start the new thread a little early.

You really did start a new home early, Heidi! I kept posting like a doofus, thinking you were kidding. I didn't realize we were that close!

Here's my drivel, in case you don't make it back there! :rotfl:

Chanon -- It will be the girls first time in a pool, if we get in with them. I'm not sure what they have, or what time Kyle will get there (and what the girls temperament will be when he does!). We may or may not go back tomorrow, depending on whether Kyle gets called in to work or not... we'll see! Avery hated the fountain we dipped her in at Millennium Park, so my guess is she won't be a big fan of this either, though she does love bathtime :confused3

The cake is just boxed cake mix (funfetti, Cassi's favorite) with our buttercream icing. And it's not nearly as fancy as Robyn's! (Yes, the cake is supposed to be "topsy turvy". The pan is, in fact, called that ;))

Speaking of Robyn...

Thank you, Emma! :goodvibes:

(Whoa.... definitely need another picture of that!)

And the girls showing off (and chewing on) their books.... thank you Emma, Molly and Lucy! princess:

Kristine, I'm glad you all made it home safely!

Tammi -- The other girls don't know yet! ;) They were planning on a sleepover anyway, so that helps, but 2 of them are big loudmouths! :) We called their parents, and they will tell the girls right before they leave, so they can pack accordingly. :rotfl:

Deb, I'm not sure how my parents would feel about that ;) I might have connections though, if you're ever in Mason, Ohio! :teeth:

We were woken at 1:50 am this morning to a loud boom & a heavy smell of smoke. The gas station across the street was on fire! The wind was blowing the smoke right at us & our home was filled with it. An officer came over & told us if it got any worse we should leave. Our power was out & thankfully was restored a little after 8 this morning. We did stay home as breathing was much better upstairs. We still have a faint smell of smoke in the house, but the basement is the worst. It was scary watching burning ashes fall onto our front porch & yard. We have small debris all over our yard. The store was closed so no one was hurt thank goodness. The fire department is still over there making sure nothing is smoldering. I felt so sorry for them this morning out in the freezing rain trying to get this under control.

Between the freezing rain & the water hoses, our street & driveway are caked with a lot of ice.

Oh WOW Janet! I'm glad nobody was hurt, and that your home didn't sustain much damage. That is awful!

Jennifer the cake looks great & your girls are so cute! I just cannot believe how much they are growing :goodvibes

Work gave us a "Thanks" gift certificate for Christmas. We pick any item that we want from the selection - and I've gotten mine narrowed down to two. Which would you pick?

The SAK Classic Mini East/West Flap
The SAK Signature Tightweave crochet purse has a round woven strap and zip top closure, and matching color nylon lining. Features a cell phone pocket, multi-purpose and backwall zippered pocket. Measures 6.5" x 7" with a 23" strap drop. Color: Black.
-or-
"Sweet Meliissa Baking Book"
Everyone has a favorite sweet treat. Whether it's a delicious brownie or the perfect mouthwatering chocolate chip cookie, simple, homespun treats are some of our most beloved. Melissa Murphy has a love of desserts that started when she was born on Thanksgiving Day-her mother refused to go to the hospital until the two pies she'd baked had been served. Now, Melissa brings that passion to the loyal devotees of her popular, award-winning Sweet Melissa Pâtisserie shops.

I love it, great job!! All my cakes are just doctored box mixes. That pan is so cute, I want it!! I really want to do a stacked topsy turvy cake but it's too much work.

Wow, that was quick seeing that it got mailed Wednesday afternoon. Emma and I thought the book one was quite appropriate for Avery.

It IS perfect, thank you! It was so thoughtful, and I love it! She will, too, when she gets over the paper and the book (I won't let her chew on the ornament ;))

I totally agree about the stacked topsy turvy.... I would be too overwhelmed to begin. I rarely do a stacked cake that ISN'T about to fall over! :rotfl:

Chanon, I love Sak purses.... they are so durable and cute for everyday stuff. I have several, and carry my black one on a regular basis. I prefer the non-flap ones (most of mine just zip across the top), but it's still very cute... and doesn't require additional work! :teeth:

No, seriously. I would go with the purse, because you can find any recipe you want online. I'm actually in the (eventual) process of getting rid of my cookbooks, just keep an electronic copy (and backup) of my favorite recipes or ones I'd like to try.

That's my 2 cents!

Now I really need to go! :rotfl:

Help I have stabing pain in my tusshy, right side and it is going down the leg and making my foot numb. How can I get rid of it? I am really having trouble sitting.

Janet, goodness! That place is so close to yours! From the youtube video it looks like the wind was blowing right towards your house too. Are you able to air out the basement somehow with any type of exaust fans?

Chanon I would choose the baking book, but then I love to cook and bake.
