DIS-Con Logo...do we have one?

I was wondering if Pete was working on a logo for the convention...an image (picture) logo.

If so, is it something we could make clipart out of and start posting in our posts?

If not, would it be possible for people to submit ideas, then vote on the best, then make clipart for our posts?

If 'don't know', could we have people submit ideas, then vote on the best, then make clipart for our posts?

((are you guys onto me yet? ))

Basically, I am wondering if anyone has some clever ideas of DIS-Con logos that could be made into <font size=5>CLIPART</font> for all of us convention-go'ers.

I totally don't want to offend you guys, but a folded ribbon like that is used for really serious stuff. Pink = breast cancer, Red = AIDS, Blue = Child Abuse.

I think a Disney Friends Convention is frivolous in comparison. Maybe we should choose something a little different.

No offense taken ...but a lime green ribbon has been the calling card of DIS meetings since I have been on the board. It is a the way we have of recognizing each other in the parks. If you have a better Idea please tell everyone, it was only a suggestion.

I tried to think of someway to express the DIS as a group, and because of Copyright laws of which Disney protect rigorously , we can't use any characters or landmarks.

I said I would be glad to help with the design of a logo so please share you ideas of something that says what DIS is without us ending up in the courts.

actually as i remember it, that folded ribbon is exactly what we visualised years ago when we were first coming up with a "symbol". We ended up with lime green because it wasn't taken ( regular green is organ donation ! ). It became appearant that it was impractical to spot in crowds, so the long streamers of ribbon became more common place. But I do understand your point that you don't want to frivolise ( new word I made up) other important issues.

First off, let me say -- I have no imagination.

I used lime green curling ribbon from the wrapping paper section when I was at WDW in March of '00. I never saw anyone else, but we were much smaller then.

Lime green... DIS-CON 2001... a different ribbon shape... we need to mix these elements together and come up with a great logo.

Let me conclude by saying -- I have no imagination.

I have one already somewhere that was never made official. I have to find it first though! If I can't find it I will make some new ones for everyone to vote on. I would still invite others (Dan) to make some for voting as well.

I DO NOT want this to turn into a contest though.

Ok....pick them apart and don't worry about hurting my feelings, I traded them last year for an annual pass.

Yes I did make the first one on a slant on purpose(which reminds me to number them for you in a second.) I can adjust it but I'll let you pick them all apart first to see if there is something else you would rather have me do instead.

They are posted to get suggestions on ALTERING them. These are not final products! Please do not put them in your signatures yet as they may be deleted shortly.

I can always combine effects, add effects, alter effects and also start over entirely if need be.

Please do not ask for any animations.

Remember that this can not please everyone, so don't get too picky.
