This is something we do as a family on every trip!!! We are all about our tea time.
What is this? We go to tea every trip too and I never saw this on the menu or anyone eating it. It looks YUMMY - might have to try it.
Here are some pics from KONA - Nov 2007:
Lump Crab Cakes - with Asian tartar and pineapple relish
Pot Stickers - wok-seared duck dumplings with creamy ginger soy sauce
Sticky Wings - glazed chicken wings wings with a tangy mustard drizzle and toasted sesame seeds
Tuna Oscar served with fried green tomatoes, tempura-fried jumbo lump crab, and wasabi hollandaise
Pan Asian Noodles - Asian egg noodles with sliced chicken, pineapple, seasonal vegetables, and a housemade sweet and sour sauce
Chocolate Macadamia Nut Tart - chocolate tart shell with chunks of macadamia nut and chocolate served with vanilla ice cream and caramel rum sauce
Kilauea Torte - an explosion of warm liquid chocolate inside a brownie volcano
Chocolate Fondue
I think I read your dining review, and I believe you said you didn't care for this. This is what I was thinking about ordering the next time I'm at Kona. Was it prepared poorly, or was it just not to your personal taste? TIA.Tuna Oscar served with fried green tomatoes, tempura-fried jumbo lump crab, and wasabi hollandaise

ETA - Also, is it just me, or does that tuna look a little too rare?
Good memory! Yep, this was the worst meal of the trip and the one I was most excited about. I love fried green tomatoes The tuna was very rare, which I didn't mind. The fried green tomatoes were so hard you couldn't cut them. The tempura crab was mostly tempura with a tiny speck of crab. The wasabi hollandaise was missing the wasabi. The tuna was ice cold. The asparagus were good though, that's all I could eat. Three of us ordered this and couldn't eat it.
From the look of this dish, it is something I would love. I bet the tuna is meant to be served cold since it is served more like sashimi rather than a tuna steak. The asparagus also leads me to believe it is meant to be cold since that vegetable often is served straight out of an ice bath to maintain color and snap. Most people are put off by this style of service for tuna, but I love it......one of my favorite hors d' oeuvres is a cold seared rare tuna with wasabi cream and grated daikon radish on a wonton crisp; very wonderful little morsel!!!!
Did someone say popcorn? I think it's even better in this souvenir bucket that you get for only a dollar more.

Yes, it is the red power ranger. It was done on the Streets of America at Disney Hollywood Studios. Cost was $15
Boma did this nice little treat for my DD14 on her birthday.
