We still had Sesame Street going on in our house in the 90s, and 2000s!It really makes me feel my age when I realize just how long ago Captain Kangaroo was on. I grew up with him. . .Mr. Green Jeans. . . .and a moose I think.
If I remember right - I watched it in Florida (military kid so moved around a bit). Captain Kangaroo, Mr. Rogers, Sesame Street, Electric Company and Romper Room.
Now the Electric Company was very cool! And so was ZOOM! Zoom zoom zooma zoom, zooma zooma zooma zoom!It really makes me feel my age when I realize just how long ago Captain Kangaroo was on. I grew up with him. . .Mr. Green Jeans. . . .and a moose I think.

I was at the American History Museum in DC yesterday and the gift shop had a section with Sesame Street memorabilia and there was a mini Grover backpack keychain thingy (I have no idea what these are called, lol) with a miniature version of the book "The Monster at the End of the Book". I got it for my oldest since she loved that one as a kid, OMG she was so thrilled with the mini Grover and book!!
I do also vaguely recall something about a moose too. Although I hate to say it here, I was not a big fan of Captain Kangaroo...
On topic (well....not news on topic, but at least Disney ), I did look for the original Dumbo seat from the ride that used to be displayed in this museum's Pop Culture Section. It wasn't there anymore . Maybe when they open up key parts of the museum, it'll reappear.

Don't forget Mr. Green Jeans! We grew up with the Captain!
Romper room?I think in the 60s / early 70s we didn't have as much to choose from as far as kids shows.

I think I was in K when Sesame St debuted so right on track!
Romper room?
Oh I know what it was as I watched it daily. Was just asking the PP that mentioned there was no competition to Captain Kangaroo if they ever watched it. My actual favorites were New Zoo Revue and HR Pufnstuff. Pryor's place was later on as was the Bugooloos or whatever it was called. It was a show that was on when I was kid. Set up kind of like a classroom. . .and the hosts talked like teachers. They would look into a mirror and call out names. I don't remember a lot about it, but it was a kid show. I looked, it ran from 1953 - 1994. I was surprised that long.

Yeah, it was wild every day. My mom used to watch all the shows with me except she always had "something to do" when Puffnstuff came on.I was Witchy Poo for Halloween one year as a kid. HR Puffnstuff was a wild show.
Yes, the real issue is that Disney doesn't release info. - it was the same junk last yr when they were closed...they only announced their closure for the first 2 weeks and then said nothing for a of April and almost the entire month of May, just every week they would quietly cancel folks reservations and then the next week and the next. If Disney woukd just be considerate enough to announce things ahead of time; the majority of this speculation and ppl. hanging on to any rumor for dear life would greatly be diminished. Sure there may be some things here and there that they're not sure about until a bit later, the vast majority they know, but just don't say anything. For instance. obviously Typhoon Lagoon isn't opening this summer, yet nothing from Disney, fastpasses aren't returning this summer, yet nothing from Disney. Their lack of communication is the root cause to everyone being so vulnerable to have hope for any little thing they hear.Because to them, stirring the pot is fun. I did appreciate in the past that stuff got shut down rather quick. I think at this point people are desperate for any good news in regards to wait times. I was concerned about early June and we were fine but I do feel bad seeing so many reports of long lines, trash, crowded areas, etc.

I’m thinking that the new posted calvacades mean that character meets are not coming back anytime soon. they seem to be making them more permanent.
Better watched now under the influence of something, LOL! I think the creators may have BEEN under the influence...
