I would also add that I liked Adventureland better at DL. It's laid out with a more cozy feel, and seems more detailed. Part of this is because MK screwed up Adventureland when they added those flying carpets.

Weather?
Depends on the time of year. I hate Florida in the summer months, but love it every other time of the year. Last week, CA was hot, but beautiful.

Haven't ridden the updated version in WDW yet, but I liked the one in DL last week (even though we got stuck on it Saturday night for over an hour and had to be evacuated, LOL!)

Is Disneyland Hotel Better then the Contemporary Resort or not?
Never stayed at DLH, but did take a tour of the buildings and grounds. Have stayed at the CR and loved it. From what I've seen, though, I would say CR because it is on the water and one can see the Electrical Water Parade every night from the beach and take advantage of all the water activities.

Which park is easier to get around?
I found DL extremely crowded when we went and it wasn't very easy to get around. But on an average day, it would probably be about even.

Which park would you say gets more packed?
It seemed to us that DL gets more packed, but that might be because of its size.

Who wants New Orleans at Magic Kingdom?
I do. Very much enjoyed that part of the park.

Who wants Liberty Square at Disneyland?
I do. I'm a HUGE history buff and Disney really made the area extremely authentic. I pick up on the details, but I imagine the average park goer, who is not a history geek, probably will not even be aware of the significance of the details.

Exterior - DL (that's an absolutely amazing building)

We definitely love the castle at WDW better. To us, the Castle, as well as the characters, are the first things that come to our mind when we think of Disney parks.

DL - no contest!

Wouldn't ride it if they had it.

I do. I wasn't particularly fond of the old sub ride, but this one seems wonderful.

Why wont they build a club 33 at Magic Kingdom?
Don't know. We actually were invited to Club 33 by a vendor on our visit to DLR. We had no idea at that time that it was an exclusive Club until I read about it afterwards on these boards. We just thought the vendor made reservations to take us to dinner and didn't realize that they had to pay big bucks to be a member there. I actually liked my meal better at the Napa Rose than at Club 33. But it was a nice place with very good food and service.

Which Cast Members are better?
Had two REAL bad experience at DLR with two different CMs, but everyone else was very nice. It's probably a draw. There are good and bad at both parks.

Don't know...don't care.

My family actually liked it as much as DL. It had wider walkways and we didn't feel so cramped. We really enjoyed our day there. Aladdin was wonderful.

Ate at two of them and had to send our meals back twice. Got comped for one of them. Even the waiter realized it was raw!!! As for the best, have not tried them all, so can't say.

For a more upscale meal, tie between the Upstairs Restaurant at Wolf Gang Pucks and Fultons riverboat. For a casual meal, Ragland Road at night is a hoot!

Which Restaurant rocks at Disneyland?
Napa Rose, Club 33 and the ambience of Blue Bayou (although we were disappointed in the food at BB).

I love Mickey's Philharmagic at WDW and think they should put it in at DL where Honey I Shrunk the Audience is right now.
And I love the Matterhorn, they should put that somewhere in the Magic Kingdom.

Not really, it is a DL only attraction that has a lot of history, but would've been out of date if added to MK

Rate Tommorrowland at Disneyland?
If the Rods or Peoplemover was still there it would be much better, but the feeling is more intimate that MK and once Nemo is done, watch out. Plus there's something really cool about having the Monorail stop in the park.

Rate Tommorrowland at Magic Kingdom?
Peoplemover and Carousel make it great, Speedway kinda stinks though and that arcade takes up way too much space.


Is Disneyland Hotel Better then the Contemporary Resort or not?
CR is much better, but of all the Disney Resorts, Grand California is hard to top.

Jumping in on the fray--
EE is NOT the Matterhorn. Both are great rides, but VERY different!

IMO, no need to pit one park against the other. Both are worth visiting (often!) for their own unique and magical offerings. In fact, my goal is to hit every Disney park someday!
But I will say weather in DL in December was absolutely beautiful--MUCH better than weather in WDW in July!

DL has a much longer ride. MK just seems like it ends, especially if you have ridden DL's.

Does it make you mad, that the Matterhorn is not at Magic Kingdom?
No, but DL gets to use it for different occasions, like having climbers got up it during the day. I saw Mickey and the gang do this. It was cool to see the Skull during the 50th fireworks...very cool. The Swiss Alps theming is great for the queue line too. It just adds to Fantasyland. I'm sorry I never got to ride the Skyway when it went through the mountain.

Rate Tommorrowland at Disneyland?
It is good. They just need to update the Audience attraction. They could replace Innoventions for my tastes. I liked Rocket Rods, but the queue was a nightmare. Putting the People Mover back would be a good idea. Putting the Nemo attraction in is exciting. It does get crowded fast. If they made the changes I suggested it would be really packed. I love the monorail. I'm sorry MK doesn't do that, even if it didn't stop in the park.

Rate Tommorrowland at Magic Kingdom?
It is also good. I see Carousel of Progress whenever I can, because it is the original. The TTA is also a nice ride while I am waiting for a Fast Pass to kick in. The Speedwasy is the biggest waste of space in my opinion. I rode it once and the track is not that impressive. Their is nothing to look at. I think they should make it a part of Fantasyland and put in jalopies for an outdoor Mr. Toad Adventure...JMO. They also have had plenty of time to do something with TimeKeeper since they suspected they were going to close it down with their seasonal openings. They should have closed in the Galaxy Theatre years ago with the FL heat and have a decent show. Their is so much real estate there that is not used. I realize this after a visit to DL to se how they utilize their space. The skyway building is just sitting there. I also liked Alien Encounter better than the disgusting antics of Stitch.

Is Disneyland Hotel Better then the Contemporary Resort or not? The DLH is nice and has a nice pool. I like the koi pond and waterfall. I have never stayed at the Contemporary, but a monorail rruns thru it. Who wouldn't like that.

Which park is easier to get around?
Once you are at one end of the Rivers of America, it is a hike to get around to the other side of the river no matter which park you are in. Overall though, DL is easier to navigate.

DL on a Saturday...any Saturday.

I think ideally on the above 2 questions, if they had the foresight to realize that EPCOT would have an American Pavilion, that MK should have NOS and DL should have LS, since the American Pavilion seems a little redundant because MK has LS. Also, the original plans for DL called for an Edison Square just off of Mainstreet. With all of that stated, I wouldn't change the course of history for these 2 lands. Walt had a lot of influence in NOS. I remember the show where he talked about NOS and Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Walt's involvement in NOS make NOS special to visit in DL. Nope wouldn't change it.

Who wants the People Mover back at Disneyland?
I think that is a given.

Whos It's A Small World is Better?
DL. I do like that the water goes right up to the dolls and sets in MK though. The trough that you float in and the fact that you can see the floor in DL makes it look a little cheap, but I also know this made it possible to move from the World's Fair in 64 to DL, so that is OK....and it may be the reason they can change it to Small World Holiday which I like. MK doesn't do that. I like how the train goes in front of the small world facade at DL.

Whos Castle is better?
MK is prettier but DL is pretty too. You just have to get up close to appreciate all of the detail. I do like the restaurant in MK.

Whos Pirates are better?
DL. I feel cheated at MK after seeing DL's.


Which Haunted Mansion is better?
DL. I like walking past the changing portraits (lenticulars?) and the busts before getting on the ride. The openness of where you board gives it a better feel too. At MK, you feel like you are walking in the basement instead of the entrance. DL wins here too.

Which Main Street is better?
These are about the same. I do like the Mr. Lincoln attraction and that you actually have an attraction on Main Street. DL just seems to make such great use of their space. I like Carnation Cafe. MK lost this alley to an enlarged Emporium. I like that DL has lockers in the opposite alley. It makes it easier to get stuff out during the day.

Which Fantasyland is better?
DL...hands down. I love how Snow, Pan, Toad, Alice, and Pinnochio's facades look like what the attraction is about. It is amazing that DL is smaller, but has more attractions in Fantasyland. Storybookland and Casy Jr. are a great treat. I think MK should use the old 20,000 league area to add this there. Again MK is just allowing real estate to go unused. They could also use it for a Fanatsyland Theatre....something. There are a lot of empty wooded areas behind small world up to the train tracks.

Who wants the Magic Carpet ride at Disneyland?
No thanks.

Who wants the Nemo ride at Magic Kingdom?
Well they are changing the Living Seas to include elements of the same thing. I just wish they would use the area where 20,000 Leagues was better. The Pooh playground is a lame example of an attraction.

Club 33 was built for Walt to attract investors after viewing his park. They don't do business the Walt way any more. Maybe they should but they don't.

I have seen good and bad in both. More good in both cases than bad.

I saw it once at Epcot's Imagination pavilion. I think they were right to pull it after MJ went perv.

I like it. I think they need to be open the same hours as DL and have nighttime events like Fantasmic! or fireworks. I think it would be tricky but that should have been thought out in the planning. With it closing early, everyone from DCA piles into DL at the last minute. It was already crowded before they got there.

It doesn't matter. It would slow me down and make me want to leave early. I can see it could be a problem with tenenagers in some cases.

WDW has a lot more, but I don't go that often because it takes away from park time. DL's is more convenient for last minute shopping. I do like the Adventurer's Club and Comedy Warehouse at WDW.

I haven't eaten at any....I was in the parks. The Jazz Kitchen looks good though.

We ate at Fulton's restaurant looking for seafood but didn't find any. We had a character breakfast at the Empress Lilly. This has been some years ago. They were OK, but again....we were in the parks.

Disneyland hands down, I grew up in Florida and SoCal is much easier to deal with humidity and temp wise.

Disneyland gets it for the bayou and the treasure cave!

Not really, it is a DL only attraction that has a lot of history, but would've been out of date if added to MK

Rate Tommorrowland at Disneyland?
If the Rods or Peoplemover was still there it would be much better, but the feeling is more intimate that MK and once Nemo is done, watch out. Plus there's something really cool about having the Monorail stop in the park.

Rate Tommorrowland at Magic Kingdom?
Peoplemover and Carousel make it great, Speedway kinda stinks though and that arcade takes up way too much space.


Is Disneyland Hotel Better then the Contemporary Resort or not?
CR is much better, but of all the Disney Resorts, Grand California is hard to top.

DL, more compact

DL, since it is smaller it can get VERY crowded

I have an old Farewell video of the Electrical Parade. In the parade they have a Pinnochio Float, which I have never seen since the farewell season. I believe maybe it is in a Museum, or maybe they took it out because they show cigars on the float. Not sure though. Does Anyone know why they took it out??? I sure would love to find out.

Oh and they have wine tasting at California Adventures. I can't remember the name of the place though. It is right next to the parade route though. I actually got a little buz from there. I drank about 3 glasses. Very nice indeed.

Ok, I have a horrible question - and please no one throw anything at me (especially anything heavy).

I have been to WDW once, I was eight years old and it was 1985. I remember the place being filthy, trash and cig. butts everywhere - and I never wanted to go back as a kid because DL was so much cleaner. So, this was 21 years ago, is my memory just flawed??? I am assuming this is not a problem now - right???

Again, excuse my ignorance, I have just seen so many fights over the two parks - so I really wanted to clarify b/c my memory of WDW is not good.
