We just got home a few hours ago from our first stay at YC, and we are hooked! We booked a GV/WV room online with an AP discount and added
DDP for sheer convenience - paid in full at time of booking, as it was within 30 days from our arrival date. We were en route on Friday morning and received a text that our room was ready - room 3127 - unexpected, but very much-appreciated, upgrade to LV/PV! We had an incredibly relaxing long weekend and will definitely stay here again.
We did not see any BB offer in the room, so we stopped by the desk to check out and ask... we were told that they were not offering any BB discounts/offers at this time.
We had a similar experience with bounceback offers leaving the CR on December 29, 2015. We had already checked out, and I had assumed my DH wasn't interested in booking a BB since we had gone to WDW 5 times in 2015, and were going to calm down a bit for the future. But, as we were sitting in the Contempo Cafe before our ME time he said something about booking one just to have another trip planned! Of course I was all over that. So I sat with the kids while he went to the main hotel concierge desk to ask for the BB info. He came back and said they told him they didn't have any written into on them anymore. I knew that was wrong, so he went up to the CL concierge desk (we had stayed CL). They also told him they didn't have anything. I knew they did, it's always in the solid color folder (We've had red and brown, I know, plus I think maybe dark blue) that is somewhere in the room when you check in. The one that has a lot of little fliers on conservation, buying the linens, etc, food options at your resort and the hotel. I never really read through it all. But there is a thicker brochure in there on WDW in general that always has the BB offers in the middle of it, with a calendar of the dates. it's been like that for quite a while, after they quit putting the BB offers front and center on the table in your room. I thought I had read that you could still book a BB offer from home if it is the day you check out, so we went home and I called that night and was able to book a BB offer anyway. (I think one of the concierge desks had given him a phone number, just denied that there was any written info). But when I unpacked I found that folder in our luggage (I keep everything from our stay for the scrapbook, etc, even though I have no more room for things like that!!) and sure enough, found the brochure with bounceback info. My husband is always amazed when I know more about something than the CMs at Disney, and I think it's kind of ridiculous that a lot of the time I do! But in this case I really think it's unacceptable, because there were all concierge CMs at a RESORT that had no idea there are still BB brochures in every room. I always keep that folder, and I have quite a few of them from all different resorts and they all have the info, for each respective year. Unless they are trying to discourage people from booking BBs, which I wouldn't understand, I don't know why the CMs at the resorts wouldn't know where to find the info. having a guest book a BB is great for them, because it's a reservation made easily and money made almost automatically. I know when I book a reservation just in case, we have never cancelled! Once I have it in my head we are going, I don't want to cancel. Also, I had always thought the BB rate would be the best available, but found out that isn't necessarily the case because this time it was the same as the spring discounts and there were additional views available when the spring discounts came out that hadn't been available with the BB. So we ended up changing everything but the date, and aren't using the BB we booked, but Disney is getting even more money from us b/c we ended up deciding to get APs again and booked YC CL instead of the POR BB we had the (mild) drama with back in Dec! So all because of my DH mentioning booking a BB offer on our last day, Disney ended up getting 4 APs and a deluxe resort CL room out of us instead of a moderate and us using our remaining non expiring tickets
. Disney math gets me every time. Gotta get the APs for the room AP discount, only $xxx more for the YC instead of a moderate. well, it's getting close and should be fun. I'm a little worried about the YC CL standard view, but it will be better than the moderate without a balcony, so it should be fine.
Ok, that was a super long winded way of saying that there are bounceback offers unless it has changed since Dec, and they are in the rooms, and the CMs don' seem to know
