Do reservations open up?

We have a trip coming up in 2 weeks. We sort of planned this one late in the game and it looks like most restaurants are almost entirely booked up.

Do reservations ever open up? Is there a good resource out there to get alerts if they do?

Do any table service offer walk-in or any other way to dine?

I’m seeing a lot of restaurants available both at lunch and supper in 2 weeks so not sure if I understand your question.

I see a lot too. In fact, I just totally rearranged all of my dining for a trip in less than two weeks and I had lots of options.

OP- what are you trying to find, and for how many people?

Reservations come available all the time, they also often don't come up even if there's room for walk up that day.

As a semi local park goer I would advise you to just keep checking, as well as check for a party size 1 larger if you have an odd number..say party or 4 instead of 3. If your looking for springs restaurants don't forget to check open table too.

They do open up. I’d suggest booking what you can now and then stalk the dining reservation site every so often while you’re working to see what else pops up. Often a few days before you’ll see stuff show up. Also if you’re looking at Disney springs or swan and Dolphin restaurants take a look at open table too. There is typically availability on there even when Disney is not showing any.

I think the dining plans just coming back has a lot of things booked up. People who have dining plans make sure they get their Table Service meals in. So I think things will get a little tighter than they have been the last few years. However, we’re here now & I have been able to change a few things around. I’ve also cancelled a few popular ADRs, so it does happen that things can show up at any time. How many people are you looking to book for? We’re a party of 2. Those ADRs are sometimes hard to get, so we often book for a party of 4 & modify it down to 2 later.

Yes, always check day of up to 48 hours especially. Now that they allow a 2 hour cancellation for most restaurants, a lot of last minute (to me) drops.

They do, but I've also had good luck with walk up lists recently. Keep checking up to a few hours before for reservations.

I see a lot of older threads where people find availability at a previously sold out restaurant. I think people make a lot of reservations ahead of their trip and then once they decide what they will actually do, cancel some of them to avoid that no-show fee. Even if the timeframe to cancel has shortened, might still find something closer to when you actually are there on vacation.

All the time! I canceled several and booked somewhere else. Just keep checking!

What happens if you see availability for 3 but only need 2? Do you get charged a no-show fee for the third person?

There is a website you can pay to get an alert when an opening pops up. I won't mention the website in case it breaks the forum rules but there is hope!
