I can't answer this for sure, but I've never been on a MEARS bus that was even half full.

I've never experienced or heard of Mears not accepting reservations.

Maybe the express service could be unavailable if not booked soon enough, but standard service should not be a problem.

You can walk up and pay to use same day if you don't want to prebook
