DVC Annual Pass Price in person vs. online

Is there any advantage to buying AP online versus waiting to buy at the park when we arrive? The way it's worded it seems that there is an advantage. Yes I searched, and yes there's a ton of info out here, however, most of it was 2 years old.

Weigh in here for some updated ticket pricing strategies.

The price you pay will be the same no matter where or how you buy it. The reasons to buy in advance include:

1. Avoiding a price increase - if you think there will be one before you arrive
2. Spreading out the cost if you have more than one to buy
3. Getting the voucher so that you can order the DDE card before you go

No, there is no financial advantage. I would only order it if you want to also pre-order a DDE card, as you'll need the AP voucher code to do that. And in order to get that you have t pay extra to have the AP mailed to you, not on will-call.

Must the DDE be pre-ordered, or can that also be purchased at WDW?
Do you simply present your membership card to purchase the APs at the DVC discount, and what IDs (if any) are necessary for add'l family members not listed as owners (EG, kids in household).

Advantage is buying on line you get a voucher that has no expiration date. That protects you against price increases if you are going to cash it in later for the actual pass at the parks.

Buying it online means that you can take it out of hiding every once in a while and look at it while dreaming of future trips !

As others have said you would also be protected against future price increase(s), be able to purchase DDE, and also have access to the passholder part of the Disney website. You also have the comfort of knowing that when you take you next trip you won't have to pay for room + food + tickets all at one time.
