We're home now, too. After reluctantly disembarking, we checked back in at BCV and enjoyed two more (hot and humid!!!) days of WDW.
I must say that going back to WDW did help the post-cruise blues a teeny tiny itsy bitsy little bit. We were envious of Oz and her family for being able to immediately reboard for their B2B!!!
We had a wonderful time on our cruise, but I do have to agree with Eric's observation of the number of children and noise level. Even my DH commented on day 3 that this sailing had the most children we've ever encountered on a
Disney cruise, especially at late seating. Please don't get me wrong, I LOVE kids, have two of my own plus a new grandbaby, am around them all the time as a teacher, and
fully expect them to be the majority of cruisers on Disney ships. After all, this was our 14th cruise on Disney! The noise didn't bother us as much as all the kids who were running and screaming around the restaurants every night - and I do mean RUNNING... in and around tables, up and down walkways, etc. We even witnessed one small child running full-speed into a server who was carrying a large tray piled high with plates of food. Fortunately, he held his balance!
We loved our tablemates!
Disney did a fantastic job of randomly putting us together: four couples, all around the same age, all DVC members, and all previous
DCL cruisers! We had great conversation every night and were usually the last to leave the MDR's. Six of us even added another Palo Brunch together, where we spent another three hours in great company! None of the other couples had heard of the DIS Boards, so I spread the good word.
Our only negative experience was that our drawings weren't loaded into the AP animation show, but our Head Server went out of his way to make sure we were able to see it on the last night (we dined in RC and were called to AP between our main course and dessert).
Our excursions were perfect. Thanks again, Lea, for setting up the bus excursion on St. Maarten!!! DH and I had fun learning the ins and outs of kayaking on our St. Thomas excursion... and are still very grateful to Eric for giving our kayak a helpful push back out into the water af Cas Cay. Our guide mentioned that the high humidity was unusual for them, and that they were also finding the humid conditions a challenge.
We didn't rebook since we already have two future dummy cruises booked. Will probably wait to see what new itineraries will be offered in the future.
It was great meeting most of you onboard and putting faces to names. Thanks for the fun FE gifts. Hope to see you again on a future cruise!
