EMH at MK

Hi all
First time posting in the theme park strategies group and Im sure this has been asked before but cant see it on first few pages.
How does the Early EMH at MK work in regards to when we can get in for say a regular 8.00 opening. I know it opens up early for everyone now to shop and go to the hub but Im confused as to how they deal with the on-site EMH people.
First time staying on property in just under 2 weeks and just wondered.

We were there last week for EMH at MK. EMH hour from 7-8am, regular park hours opened at 8am. They had cast members at the bridges to the various lands scanning magic bands to see if guests were staying on-site.

MK only opens Main Street for shopping an hour before the posted opening time on non-EMH days.

On EMH days, they open the gates to Main Street about 15 min. before the posted EMH time.
