I had this problem - well, sorta! I been solo to WDW many times, and I feel weird booking anything for one person, so I always lie and book for two. I do this with hotel rooms and dining reservations. I guess I feel "safer" booking for two. I booked the Cape May Buffet for two, and when I came as a one, it was no big deal.
I am also the shy introverted type (see Muppet below!), and I have usually have had a good time solo. Though honestly, on my last solo trip, I had a few minor problems associated with being solo (stuff like locking myself out of my room, not getting service at Pepper Market), so I am in no rush to go again solo.
Sorry to be slightly negative, but going solo can have it's ups and downs. But hopefully, you'll have a great time!
