Fantasy Springs is opening June 6th 2024

We got it!

I got back in, I logged in *first*, went through the process, and it let me through.

Then the credit card page. It rejected my "saved card" but I tried reentering it as a new card (same actual card) and the second time it went through!

Got email confirmation, and since the card errored, DH called Chase and it went through while they were looking things up, and were able to confirm the charge!

Tokyo here we come!
That's what I did, too. Once you get through the queue, log in, and then select your package and go through the process.

I had my World Elite MC denied twice, even after going through the ID check and entering the OTP. My World Debit MC was denied twice. My partner's Debit MC was denied. Her Visa was denied. Finally, the Debit MC card that I got from my credit union worked for some reason.

What a terrible system. Can't wait to do it all again for USJ!

I wonder if browser makes a big difference! I was buying Shibuya Sky tickets on Safari as a trial run today (you can purchase and change the date for sunset times to save headache with purchase issues) and couldn't get any of my cards to work. I switched to Chrome (which is how I got Tokyo Disney to work) and then suddenly it worked. So weird! The Shibuya Sky website did suggest using Chrome/Edge so maybe not too surprising.

I think the new Disney one sign-on has messed up the TDR login.

When I booked for June, it wasn’t ideal, but it was way better than any D23 booking experience I have had, barring the CC issues which are not just a TDR problem in Japan.

Use a mobile phone?

I've had nothing but website errors for the last three hours on my desktop PC, but the site works OK on my phone. I'd imagine that going through the process on a phone takes longer, though.
I totally agree.
I had a Safari and Chrome browser windows open on my iMac and refreshed at 3pm Tokyo time, followed by my iPhone. Both desktop browsers showed a 1 hour wait to log-in while the iPhone went straight into the reservation page.
However, I didn't log in first and it hung after I selected the attractions.
I refreshed all three browsers and once again the iPhone loaded the Reservation page well before the desktop browsers.
I eventually got my Toy Story Fantasy Springs package on the second attempt.

Here are my tips, keen to hear any others.
  • Tip #1 Use your phone, it's actually not that difficult.
  • Tip #2 Log in before searching for a package or hotel
  • Tip #3 When searching for a hotel. Copy the URL from yesterday's search, paste it into a text editor (Word etc), change the date to next day and paste it back into address bar dead on 11am Tokyo time.

Easiest improvement they could make to their process would be to force anyone going in to select and book a package to log in before starting. If you start making a reservation, the login screen should come up. Currently, you can get pretty far without being logged into an account. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. But this would save some folks a lot of time and frustration if they didn't know you can't log on at the end of all the selections. At least we couldn't. And based on posts, others couldn't either.

I released it since two back to back packages is a bit much, but just had a Venice Room at MC for June 6th in my cart. I wonder if we'll start seeing lots of cancelled packages for June in the upcoming weeks!

How strict are they with breakfast reservations? I lucked out yesterday and was able to switch my sister's TS VP to a FSH VP to match ours on Jun 20 (I almost cried!!). Their reservation is at 8:40am though which is kinda awkward since they'd be in FS for less than 30min before having to come back for breakfast. It's not too bad since the hotel is right there but there's a chance they'll be late if they're just coming off a ride. The FAQ section says "If the designated Priority Seating time has passed, the booking will be canceled." - wondering if this applies to VP breakfast slots?

So I couldn't get a Fantasy Springs Hotel reservation for my stay in July (not shocking though). However, I did snag 3 nights at Miracosta, followed by 3 nights at Toy Story Hotel (6 nights all together)

With early entry, what will be the best method to get either DPA or Standby Passes for Fantasy Springs. We're going to Disneysea 3 days all together, with only 2 of those visits using Happy 15.

I don't think DPA & Standby Pass be booked at the same time, I am assuming each one has to be done separately? I truly don't know since I didn't really try to do that on my last trip.

However I appreciate any tips or suggestions :)

My goal is to ride all 4 attractions & eat at one of the places. That's the goal at least lol.

You can request a Standby Pass even if you have purchased DPA. Probably try to grab a standby pass for Tink as soon as you can since there's no DPA line for that, and a DPA for one of the other three rides. And then repeat on your second day- standby pass for one of the remaining 2 rides and DPA for the other.

I don’t know for sure, but they seem kind of strict. However, I have heard of people having to wait 10-15 minutes for TDR hotel breakfast buffet.

You can get DPA and Standby Passes at the same time. You can get all the pass types at the same time. However, we don’t know what the Standby Pass rules will be for these attractions. They have been using it for stores mostly as of late. You can’t get more than 1 pass of a specific type at a time, unless a time limit has expired.

(No spoilers here, just some interesting information)

Saw some comments in another group from someone who went to a CM preview, Frozen had the longest wait (and she mentioned it breaks down the most). DPA line did get up to an hour for Frozen even with what I imagine was limited capacity. She mentioned Tink was only around 30 minutes which is good. I guess I will be booking it to Frozen first! Sounds like she did everything in the land in about 2.5 hours. I imagine it'll take even longer once it actually opens, since I can't imagine CM previews are at full capacity. But it would be great if I could do Fantasy Springs in a half day or 2/3 day, since I will only have one more day at DisneySea.

I only have one full day for Disneyland and I think I will get a weeknight ticket (or just a regular ticket, since they're so cheap compared to US parks) for my arrival day to at least try and do a couple smaller rides and the Electrical Parade. Or just do shopping :rotfl:

So I found an interesting Japanese site, they have a lot of good information (use a browser that translates to English) such as room rates by room type and month. What I also found is they seem to be tracking room vacancies. I'm not sure how often the page is updated, but I did discover they have twitter accounts that seem to be actively providing alerts when rooms become available.

(hopefully Dis allows me to link these haha)

They also go into some interesting detail on data surrounding cancellations, like the optimal time to be checking. Couple of points they made (specific to MC, seems to be hotel-specific):
  • We found that there were more changes in inventory, likely due to cancellations, on weekdays than on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Among weekdays, Fridays tend to have the most cancellations.
  • Most vacancies occur between 2:00 pm and cancellations evenly occur between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm. .
  • Also, between 7:00 and 8:00 in the morning, fluctuations in inventory, which appear to be cancellations, are starting to increase.
  • If you want to check for cancellations, I think it's a good idea to check frequently in the morning (7:00-13:00) and at night (17:00-23:00)!

I realize this isn't totally FS related but I know most of us are in the thick of room-stalking for upcoming trips. The FSH twitter account may be helpful too in the off chance there are room drops, as TDR seems to be a bit weird about how those are released. It looks like today there were a couple FSH cancellations in June. I would not use their links since it seems to go to a third party but should be searchable on the regular TDR site. Again, not sure how helpful this will be...but thought I'd share!

Looks like Disney decided to start releasing photos, also seeing a spoilery video being tossed around.
Soooo many spoilers. You'd have to stay off social media completely to avoid them if you've been interacting with TDR content! (And all the US Disney bloggers I follow are reporting everything as well, as a warning.) I am getting so impatient :rotfl:

You can only buy weeknight tickets from the official TDR app or buy them in the convenience store, so just be wary of that. Maybe you can buy them through an official Disney hotel but I'm not sure.

Yes they are on the app! Assuming I can get that to work :rotfl: I don't think you can buy them at the hotels, I did see a post about someone having luck buying them in person at information near the park entrance in the past year, despite the website indicating tickets must be purchased online (or at hotels). I may ask just out of curiosity when I am there.

Edit: At this point I wouldn't be surprised if I decide to make a full park day out of my arrival day, unless I have a lot left I want to do in Tokyo. :hyper:

I find this so confusing (sauce: https://faq.tokyodisneyresort.jp/tdr/en/faq_detail.html?id=24965&category=10694&page=1): does the bolded part mean we can use our VP beverage tickets via mobile order if we order something from the menu? i.e. it's only standalone drinks that are not available via mobile order?

Food Vouchers, Gift Cards, and Beverage Tickets included in Vacation Packages are not available for Disney Mobile Order.

The following guests will be able to use Food Vouchers, Gift Cards, and Beverage Tickets included in Vacation Packages at a store's cash register when using the restaurant.
