First a Little Pomp & Circumstance, then a Whole Lot of Disney Dining! COMPLETE

:wave2: Well, hello fellow Central-Illinoisan, Megan and welcome to the Dining Reviews section of the DISboards! I have been around these boards for 12 years now, and I can honestly tell you that this is by far the best section of these boards. :thumbsup2 The people here are great and the discussions (whether it be about Disney food or occasionally we get side-tracked and talk about other things :rolleyes1) can be extremely entertaining. :lmao: And then there is the food porn!!! :p I will warn you not to get too close to your keyboard when viewing the food pics here because they tend to cause much drooling. :rotfl:

Do you mind if I ask you when exactly you are going in September? I would love to add you to the list I am maintaining of DISers with upcoming trips. Here is the LINK in case you haven't yet seen it.

And lastly, thank you so much for your kind words regarding my report. Reading your comments truly made my day! :goodvibes

Your neighbor and DIS friend,

Barb

I'd love to be added to the list....it will help me stay inspired to write those reviews when we get back My DH and I, along with our two boys, ages 9 and 2,will be in the World from 9/14-9/21 staying at Carribbean Beach Resort. We are all over-the-moon excited for this trip for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is all the fabulous food we are planning. I am super excited to share our adventures with everyone.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I love a good list and you are officially the queen of lists :goodvibes

Wonderful photos and fab descriptions

Shall we have a quick collection to send you back to WDW for more reviews ASAP

The "Queen of Lists"...I rather like that, Linda! :thumbsup2 Does that entitle me to hang out with the other "Royals"? I heard from a very reliable source that the Queen of England occasionally enjoys a frappacino at Starbucks. If I'm ever in Windsor, I'll be sure to check it out. ;)

ETA: I just heard on the radio that Prince Harry likes to "hang out" (so to speak ;) ) in Las Vegas. I think I'll stick with having coffee with the Queen though. :lmao: Btw, I couldn't resist the urge to take a peek at the photos they were referring to on TMZ.com. Oh, my!!!  :rotfl:

I took Denise's great advice and added to my signature a link to my LIST. I'll try to keep it updated so if I've missed anyone or your plans change, please either let me know by posting on this thread or sending me a PM.

Thanks everyone! :)

ETA: I've added our Favorite Desserts. ;)

Love those desserts that made the list! What a dangerous way for me to start off my day...

Oh...my...gosh! Those dessert pictures are really making me drool this morning. I know for sure I'm going to get the zeppole. And now that another DISer recommended some certain drops for my lactose intolerance (and they work!!!!!!) I'm going for the No Way Jose. I"m so excited for my trip! However everyone should cross their fingers that tropical storm/hurricane Isaac does not ruin my plans to fly down on Monday. I will be very bummed out.

I have another emmysmommy (Brenda) update for you this morning. Although she made a truly valiant effort to complete #4 on her LIST, she was not able to eat her entire order of Pineapple-Macadamia Nut Pancakes at her Kona breakfast this morning.

I will however give her an "A" for her effort and count it as a completed task! :thumbsup2

I would definitely count that as complete! I've tried and failed at that particular task so I'm very impressed with her effort!

Late to the party as usual but jumping in now for the fun! :cool1:

Yes, that's why I waited until after I had eaten dinner last night and was quite full before I dared to post the pictures of all our favorite desserts. Dangerous, quite dangerous, indeed! ;) :rotfl:

Yay! So glad to hear you won't have to say "No Way" to Jose afterall. :thumbsup2 And I will be sure to keep my fingers crossed for you regarding Isaac. Hmmm...I wonder if I can learn how to type with my fingers crossed before Monday??? :confused3 Thos is goims to tskr somr prsvctoce. :lmao:

I really want a No Way Jose sundae right about now! Yum!

Another fan of Senor Jose! :thumbsup2

Totally agree! Brenda's effort definitely puts my lame attempt to shame. I think I only managed to eat one of my two pancakes. :guilty:

Thanks for the reviews, I thoroughly enjoyed them!:goodvibes

:welcome: crazyfordisney and DISNEYDUET! I'm happy to have you both here! :thumbsup2

And I see that you both have Disney trips coming up soon. :woohoo: If you would care to share your dates, etc. here, I will add you to my list. (see my signature for the link to my list, if you are interested ;) )

Just a reminder to everyone that GoofySon'sMom should have checked in at AKL by now. Also DisneyMomFanatic is arriving at WDW today and staying at AOA. :thumbsup2

Yay! I'm loving these live updates on everyone. Speaking of which...I hope the cheese goo was the low point of Brenda's Yachtsman experience! And I totally understand not finishing those pancakes - half an order was enough for me (and I can eat a lot). :rotfl:

You know, I wasn't really feeling the favorite desserts until I got the bottom, and then it was an onslaught of awesome. Zeppole, cheesecake, and No Way Jose?! Barb is a woman after my own heart! :worship:

Also, Brenda did an AWESOME job on those pancakes. They are delicious but soooooooo dense and filling! I've never seen anyone finish them!

Yes, Yes, we are here! And we had just an amazing meal at Flying Fish! Will remember not to order the cheese goo at YSH on Saturday!

That's all I heard about her YSH dinner, so I guess we will just have to wait until her review. But I'm really hoping that she liked Yachtsman as much as we do! :thumbsup2

Thanks B! :goodvibes And yes, Brenda is quite the trooper...especially since she still had two more meals planned for today at Tony's and Teppan Edo!

Very happy to hear it... x 3!!! :thumbsup2 And thanks so much for checking in here, GoofySon'sMom! :goodvibes

OUR FAVORITE LUNCH

After compiling all the numbers, I was a bit surprised at first about the restaurant which received our second highest combined ratings for lunch. But then after I thought about it for a bit, it made perfect sense. After a week of eating somewhat "fancy" food, we were all craving food like what is on the menu at...

Recipient of Our Honorable Mention Award for Favorite Lunch

Our meal at Beaches & Cream began with...

004b9f4e.jpg

Sodas flavored with Syrup
Coke with Vanilla and Sprite with Raspberry

DD2 and I shared this...

3c6ea4c6.jpg

Burger Heaven - A juicy Angus Beef Patty topped with Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato and Bacon added (for an extra $.99) served on a Fresh-baked Bun (baked fresh daily at the Yacht & Beach Club Resorts Bakery).
We had a choice of Fresh Fruit or French Fries for the side, and we chose French Fries.
This was already split in half for us and brought to our table on two plates.

DD1 doesn't like hamburgers, so she went a different route with this...

c274d715.jpg

Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato Bisque
Six-Cheese blend on Fresh-baked Sourdough Bread
She chose the Fresh Fruit for her side.

DD1 and I also shared an order of these...

Onion Rings

DD1 and I shared this dessert

No Way Jose (smaller version with only 2 scoops of ice cream)
Peanut Butter and Hot Fudge delight featuring Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream,
Peanut Butter and Chocolate Morsels, Whipped Cream, & a Cherry.

DD2 ordered a Single Scoop Ice Cream Cone, which she was expecting to be served in just a cone but instead was served this way...

NEXT UP: Our Favorite Lunch...any guesses which restaurant will receive the top honor??? ;)

OUR FAVORITE LUNCH

We had 9 lunches on this trip, and so which one of these was our overall favorite???

le-cellier-1-071.jpg

Our #1 Favorite Lunch

At Le Cellier, we of course each started with either a bowl or cup of...

IMG_0193-1.jpg

Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup - Made with Moosehead Beer and Bacon

For their entree, DD1 and DD2 each ordered this...

IMG_0253-1-1-1.jpg

IMG_0194.jpg

Grilled Pork Chop with baked cheddar cheese pasta, tomato chutney and bourbon-chipotle glaze.
Also pictured is our shared side of Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes. :thumbsup2

And so with Le Cellier being a steakhouse, I of course had this...

IMG_0198-1.jpg

Le Cellier House Burger with roasted mushrooms, smoked bacon, maple barbecue, Black Diamond Cheddar, and crispy onions, and french fries (This is currently my favorite Disney World burger! :thumbsup2)

Yep, no steak and yet Le Cellier Steakhouse was still our favorite lunch of this trip! :confused3 Just one of life's little mysteries I guess. ;)

And that just leaves our shared dessert...

IMG_0199-1-1.jpg

Canadian Chocolate Moose

So long story short, my family loves having lunch at Le Cellier...but not because of its steaks. While their steaks can be good, some of their non-steak entrees can be even better. :thumbsup2 I am however a little nervous about the change next year to a 2 credit lunch. We may just have to find a new favorite place to have lunch, but I guess only time will tell. :worried:
