Guardians has a 100% onRotten Tomatoes and reviews are pouring in with good news. It is going to do very well and just might turn into a mega hit! Go see it Friday!

Saw it Sunday (7/28) at a Disney Parks blog screening at the AMC at DTD (WDW). The movie is very good. So good, that Marvel has already set a release date for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (7/28/2017).

"Guardians of the Galaxy" is a terrific swashbuckler. It is among Marvel Studio's best films thus far and their most visually dazzling motion picture to date."

Cinema Blend

"What really can't be stressed enough is just how insanely fun and entertaining 'Guardians of the Galaxy' is for literally its entire two-hour-plus runtime. Made with the same kind of energetic and creative gusto that has fueled classics like Star Wars, Ghostbusters and Back To The Future..."

I couldn't quote this article, but it compared this movie to Star Wars!

Comicbookmovie.com

"Guardians of the Galaxy is a real cinematic treat, it will have you on the edge of your seat from the word go and it is highly likely you will fall off that seat from laughing so hard."

That is really cool! Thanks. I am excited. Everybody go and they will keep up the quality.

Yeah, Friday can't get here fast enough for me! GOTG was definitely a reiky property for Marvel being a lesser known group, but it looks like it's really going to pay off. I think the focus on the humor in the trailers may have helped it too. I can't wait to see it!

:3dglasses We saw the preview here in Anaheim's Downtown Disney on Saturday 7/26!!!
It was BETTER then I thought it would be!!! Funnier than expected PLUS lots of action!!! :teacher:

Go see this movie!!!! :thumbsup2

Tomorrow there are early showings in a lot of places, but I won't make it until Friday. Things are looking good! It has been a good year for Disney, and I have had good feelings about three movies so far; Frozen, Maleficent, and now Guardians of the Galaxy.

Currently Guardians of the Galaxy is trending at 9 out of 10 stars on IMDB and 93% fresh on RottenTomato.com's tomato meter with 57 reviews. That isn't bad!

Let’s not mince words here. Guardians of the Galaxy is awesome, hilarious, super fun, and you should go see it.

This review will contain ZERO spoilers, because spoilers are dumb.

Rolling Stone's Peter Travers

"When he first learned about the Marvel superhero flick Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter Travers reflexively reached for his handy Scum Bucket. But now our trusted critic is eating his own words, saying the film "might be the most fun I've had so far this summer at any movie."

Hollywood Reporter

The movie is expected to get $60 million plus this weekend, but maybe it will break out even bigger. It is expected to do well, but it would be cool, if unlikely for an original property, if it got close to or exceeded $1 Billion.

The interplanetary adventure, starring Chris Pratt, is the perfect summer entertainment, and it deserves to be seen in IMAX 3-D

James Gunn's latest film is a visually stunning achievement. The excessive yet welcome amount of humor keeps the film lighthearted despite billions of lives being at stake. The diverse cast of characters allows for a level of satisfying entertainment that surpasses even the likes of "The Avengers." Unconventionally comical and overflowing with sci-fi action, "Guardians of the Galaxy" is an extraordinary group of A-holes everyone can cheer for.

Two and a half hours and we'll be watching the movie! :cool1::hyper::banana::cloud9::woohoo::yay:

DH and DS are besides themselves, they can barely focus on what's going on at scouts tonight.

Marvel has earned the benefit of the doubt from the movie going public; I'm not sure any studio has ever been in the position they are in. Maybe Pixar when their reputation was stronger than it is now.

Some people are amazed that they could do so well with a comic property that isn't nearly as well known as their other stuff, but I think they forget how many movies have been made on similar material. Men in Black, The Mask, The Crow, Judge Dredd, and V for Vendetta were all based on non-mainstream comics.

A few nonspoiler comments:

Marvel did an excellent job giving us the "low-down" on who these characters are. I had no clue that they existed until the movie was announced, and was still fairly :confused3 over them. The movie lets you know who is what.

The action/dialogue is very good. We laughed, we cried (well, I did, anyways), we were amazed.

Some of the parts were hard to follow (action)--the action was happening very quickly and it seemed the camera was having a hard time following it.

Don't forget to stay after the credits.

All-in-all, it was a very good movie.

Guardians made $11.2 million Thursday night! The biggest Thursday night of the year! It will definitely exceed $70 million this weekend and now, based on Thursday, has an outside shot at $100 million and the biggest opening of the year. I'm going tonight!

Looks like Marvel is the new Pixar!

Nothing really to add aside from It Was Awesome! We loved it and everyone in the theater was laughing, cheering and gasping in all the right places. Great tie-ins to past and future Avengers movies, they know how to get you to see all of them so you don't miss something.

Argh! I have to wait! Hubby is on a business trip and wants me to wait until he gets back to go!

I saw it in 3D, now I need to see it in 2D. It was great. Funny, entertaining, and some of the best special effects and scenery I've ever seen. Very real looking. Imaginative designs and creatures. And wonderful makeup and costumes.

At the same time, it was also one of the best comic book movies with a real "comic book feel" while also being realistic.

Don't forget to stay after the credits.

Boy, I didn't see that one coming. I'm glad I've avoided spoilers, I enjoyed the surprise.

It made me laugh to realize that Disney now owns a property that has been a thorn in their side for almost 40 years; in fact, they may have bought both Marvel and LucasFilms to be certain that they were the undisputed owners. :rotfl::rotfl2::donald::cool1::smokin:

We just saw the movie for the second time...

Anyone who has seen it, did you see the hidden mickey in the movie? I swear it was there, and I am tempted to see the movie again, just to confirm. I cant find anything on the internet about it, and I just want some confirmation...

We saw it last night and walked away with feeling of...meh. It wasn't as good as they are hyping it up to be. I thought The Avengers was a million times betters. I am not much into science fiction and this had way to much of that going on for me. I liked some of the dialogue among the main characters but that was it. I wasnt' following all the action scenes, and who was trying to do what, etc. I also didn't feel like I really cared about any of the characters. For me it was just okay, and I think overrated.

Saw it the other night. Hubby is a big Marvel buff and claims that it's his favorite Marvel movie now.

I really enjoyed it, Bradley Cooper surprised me (in a good way)! Not my favorite Marvel film but well worth the ticket price!
