How long are the lines in August?

We are thinking of going to DL August 10-14. We have been to wdw several times. How long are lines in the morning and evening for rides in fantasyland? How about the other sections of the park? Our daughters are 8 and 4 and will not ride anything fast. Also, do you think 5 days in summer is too much? We like to pace ourselves and be able to swim in the afternoon. We may take a day to go to the beach but really don't want to go anywhere else. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hi ADisneyQueen & welcome to the DIS :)

Expect to wait a long time during peak times during the day. Your best time to hit Fantasyland is early morning and late in the evening. With the 50th anniversary celebration, I expect it to be pretty crowded. I think your idea of pacing yourselves with a stop in the afternoon for swimming is a perfect way to get away from the crowds, enjoy some downtime, and return refreshed. :sunny:

Yeah, the lines for the slow flow rate rides can get pretty long in August on a normal year, and this year should be worse. It's probably pretty similar to WDW summer crowds. BUT. the weather will be much nicer than summer in Orlando. Also, California Adventure won't be as crowded and has some mild rides (although, most don't seem to be quite as magical as Fantasyland rides). Start early at DL and hop over to DCA when DL is too crowded.
