My first trip tp DW was in 1975 and we stayed at the Ramada Inn in Kissimee. from the it was every other year and we used to stay at Sheraton World then from there is was always on site. geesh, I am 45 so what does that make as far as how many times? My happiest times, when I was the young teen growing up and going with my friends and now going with my son the past 4 yrs. we have a ball. :D

I would have to check my post for the list, but I want to say 8 (or will this make 9?) I just can't remember.

Let me see if I can remember some of them: ;)

I read your post and was so jealous to see the planned Grand Californian visit. I've NEVER been to the "happiest place on earth" and am hoping it will, eventually become a reality. I'm interested to see how you like the Swan. I've never stayed there but we had dinner at one of my very favorite restaurants, Palio. The hotel impressed me with its quiet grace and sophisticated elegance. One question: is it intentional that you never stayed at the Polynesian? I see, however, that you DID stay at two of my other favs: Wilderness Lodge and Yacht Club. All the best,
Wilma

GOOD GRIEF! How do y'all afford so many trips? I'm not criticizing--just wondering how I can get in on the deal.

I've only been once and am dying to go again!

Beansmom... many times it is because we look for the discounted codes, use AP rates, or work for Disney. By purchasing the AP, it saves you money, not only on admissions, but on resorts, food, and merchandise, making what could be a very pricey vacation a little more affordable.

When registering, my husband was helping me. He said "why don't you be Wilma Flintstone--I always name myself Fred." So I thought--why not??
You are lucky to have gone 20 times. If it were up to me I would go at least that much. I've always wanted to stay at Port Orleans FQ. We snuck in to the pool area from Old Key West (where we were staying) in '95. My son was 10 at the time and we wanted to avoid a water park as much as possible--didn't think he could handle large slides. So the slide at Port Orleans was just the ticket. We ate 2 separate times at Bonfamillas, and are very upset they since have closed it.
How were the Treehouse Villas? I've always been interested in what they are like. I saw one on a trip with Rufus (our launch "captain" from Old Key West) on our way to and from Downtown Disney Marketplace.
Thanks for welcoming me to your lovely website.
All the best, Wilma

beansmom,

I forego some major purchases to go because all six of us love to go. My living room has been void of furniture for 11 years. We save some money and my DH will say "let's get some furniture." And I say "na, let's go to Disney!" We drive our cars for 10 years (I think cars are a waste of money anyway).

I would spend anything to go! It is the best family time we have. The teenagers lose their attitude and "coolness," no one argues, life slows down.

Wilma...

I am really looking forward to the Grand Californian as I have never been out West before!! I am very excited about that trip!! :)

As for the Swan...we are staying there since the Dis Con Convention is being held there this year...I have never stayed at either the Swan or Dolphin, but I am looking forward to trying a new place!! :)

Wilderness Lodge was our all time favorite resort and we liked to stay there whenever we could, until we tried AKL...that is our new favorite!! :) Though WL will always be our "home" resort! (so to speak! LOL)

The Poly is definitely one I do want to stay at...not intentional at all, just seems like whenever DH and I are trying to decide where to stay, we always pick something different than the Poly...I do want to stay though...I ate lunch at Kona Cafe last time I was in Disney and fell in love with the Resort!! :)

2003 - Poly and CBR - Me, DH, DD 10 and 7

2001 - Contemporary - Me, DH, DD 8 and 5
2000 - GF and Cont - Me, DH, DD 7 and 4
1998 - GF (the best) - Me, DH, DD 5 and 2
1995 - Dixie Landings - Me, DH and DD 2
1980 - Contemporary - high school class trip

We want to try all of the resorts but are really attached to being on the monorail, so on our next trip - and probably all from now on - we will be splitting the stays.
