To make return reservations for your next Disney Cruise.
They aren't like those Time Share folks your find in the Gift Shops or casinos are they?
I mean, it sounds like a great deal to re-up for your next cruise while onboard, but it's taking my next to last dime to make THIS trip and now they want more money for my next trip???
OUCH!!!
I would never do anything to "Break the Family Bank" but is reserving while onboard a deal that I should not pass up on?
I am using this (Wonder 4-night, our first family cruise) as a trial to see if we can stand each other on a ship that gets smaller and smaller and smaller with each day spent onboard without throwing each other overboard to see if we can really enjoy a seven day cruise.
What say you?

Tony we rebooked on our last cruise.
To say there is no pressure is an understatement. There is a small desk set up and oft times there is a lineup of folks waiting to give DCL their money :)
Do not worry about pressure. It is an informational, as well as a good way to ask questions plus get yourself an onboard credit. We booked onboard, got the $200 credit, checked with a couple of Travel Agents and ended up saving even more money by switching our reservation.
Just know you have to pay your $200 deposit for a 3 or 4 day and $250 for a 7 day.
Cheers,
Grumbo

Definitely no pressure!
Since we cruise so much, we know all the onboard sales agents, and they are a super bunch. Sometimes there is a wait to talk to them, so we've had a chance to sit and observe their interactions with guests. There is no pressure, and they are infinitely patient with people who check multiple dates and ask endless questions and then end up not booking. If you have questions, definitely ask them. They can give you details of the current specials with no pressure at all. They are happy to help.

No pressure at all! The desk is usually busy, but that is because people come there on their own. I wanted to rebook and had to wait my turn!

None whatsoever.

The only pressure feel is finding a time when the LINE is short enough at the booking desk to book your next cruise! :)

No pressure. We just took our first Disney cruise in April. We had to look up times to go to the very small rebooking desk. Then, when we went and talked to the lady she ended by saying something along the lines of....."ok. There are the final numbers. I will be here until 8pm if you decide you'd like to book it." Absolutely no hard pressure sales at all. It was wonderful. We rebooked for a 4 day next April at which time we will probably rebook for a 7 day.

I waited so long that I finally just scribbled my credit card number on a navigator along with the rooms and date I wanted and handed it to her. I had waited all I could to spend that much money. She looked surprised, as did the family that had been asking questions for AT LEAST AN HOUR that someone would be able to do it without talking. I put in my cruise evaluation that they needed more people to take the reservations, or a "hotline" kind of phone to make the reservations quickly and easily. Some people need that one on one interaction for long periods of time....others read The Disboards.....

(My fault wasn't with the family asking questions....it was with DCL to not have a system in place to make the reservation process easier. Of course everyone should get the opportunity to ask whatever questions they feel they want to know before spending that much money.)

I agree My3kids ............
They should perhaps permit appointments to be made, longer hours and maybe a couple of C.M.'s helping.
We asked questions and probably took 10 minutes but the hours were limited when you could go and they could probably use their own office or counter rather than a small desk in the foyer area. The hours are listed in your Navigator each day.
If you're going to rebook probably best to go early in the cruise so you can beat the rush :)
Cheers,
Grumbo

Probably a lot. (They = FAMILY!!!)...

Within 10 minutes of boarding our teen daughter was starting in on when we will do it again!

Like the DVC table, there were times when there were no folks asking information, (Usually in the afternoons) and other times it was mobbed (starting about 5:30pm to 10:00pm)

Pressure on a Disney cruise?

The greatest pressure I felt was trying to decide how many desserts I wanted to try at dinner each night or how many Konk Koolers I wanted on Castaway Cay (2 and 2 respectively). The greatest pressure my wife felt was the masseuse's hands on her back during her cabana massage on Castaway Cay. :-)

No pressure to re-book at all but would have to agree with my fellow DISers about DCL providing more people to assist those who wish to re-book while on-board. I think there was one time I didn't see anyone in line during our 4-day Wonder cruise.

You should have been there on the Dec. 1, 2002 Wonder with all of the cancelled Magic cruisers on it (myself being one). Line were crazy and nobody knew anything.

Definitely no pressure....you can always cancel......and if you use the new Disney Bank One Visa card, there is no interest for 6 mos plus you get reward dollars back! I think I am in the wrong profession!!

I' have to keep an eye out in the Port Canaveral want ads...that would be my dream job. ;) If I were a cruise sales agent, nobody could ever say that I don't practice what I preach!

I say do it!!! You only go around once...."This ain't no dress rehersal"!! Think of all the air fare you would save from ORD!! I had my stretch in the travel industry....and just loved it. The perks are the best especially for a cruise nut like you!! Now I just need to figure out how to combine that experience w/my obsession w/Disney!!

My dream job....go around the country or East coast and let people know whats happening in the "World"!!!

Keep On Dreamin!!! It gets you through each day!

Just back from the 5/17 Magic cruise. There was an announcement in the first Navigator that there would be a "presentation" about on board booking. It noted the next night were exclusive hours for Castaway Club re-bookings. Then gave the rest of the dates and times.

Needless to say - we re-booked!

on the cruise that you can advance book for your next Disney Cruise?
I've heard of the "presentation", but if you know that you are coming back and when/what etc., is there somewhere that you can just go & sign up?

We had hoped you could just go and rebook too; but last week they had the presentation on Monday (sea day); then you could actually book at certain times each day, or evening. We booked Tuesday and were second in line. I noticed that the lines got longer each evening. Check your Navigator for exact times.

Do I inderstand correctly that if you book a new cruise while onboard and get the $200 credit that you can change the sailing date later on and still keep the credit?
