I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

I wanted to open this up to this thread, since I get a club access award if anyone is going to a Hyatt with a club before feburary 29,2024 dm me your membership number and last name and they are yours. If i don't hear from 4 people in a day ill post about it on Reddit. Id rather give it to people on here as your knowledge has helped me throughout the years.

That's a very kind offer, and reminds me I'm in the same position. I have 4 Club Access Awards that expire 2/29/24 and I also am happy to give them away.

Well I called chase recon and got my card approved after moving credit from another card.

Any chance it’s still worth attempting a mdd tomorrow even if I’ll have to recon again? Or too much risk of eyes on accounts?

I’m going to close a few cards and reduce my credit limits, I hadn’t realized how ridiculous they had gotten. But I don’t think that will help for tomorrow

UGH! I think my BF was going to look into his last week, then he got the flu. This is beyond annoying. Will he ever get his points and FNC? He's never had ANY Hilton card, so it would be interesting to see. Also I never got my referral points. I'm thinking I never will since this is such a mess.

We did not upgrade, but I admit I didn't try via any other calls or emails or whatever other avenues, I just left it as is. Of course, we didn't have part of our party in Biz and someone in Economy. We just had 2 people, both in biz on way over and economy on way back.

Congrats party: On the approval……
I’d still try tomorrow for the MDD….

I thought you could see it in the Rewards Activity section, but I'm on the desktop and don't see it there. Here's the official terms:

"Each anniversary year you will be reimbursed for the purchase of up to 2 EarlyBird Check-In services made with your Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card. Each EarlyBird Check-In service means a purchase made for EarlyBird Check-In one-way, per Passenger. Anniversary year means the year beginning with your account open date through the first statement date after your account open date anniversary, and the 12 monthly billing cycles after that each year."
Yeah, I could not find it in the app either. Based on this I think I’m ok to buy early bird. I have 13 billing statements.

I swear I hate the "update" to my bill pay tracking app. I don't have my CC's set to autopay as there are times I pay from different bank accounts. In the few months I've missed a few CC bills and utilities bills too! My old app was amazing, but when I upgraded phones it was no longer supported. The new one SUCKS! It doesn't remind me when a bill is due (even though I have it set up to do it). I randomly marks billed paid that I haven't paid. Does anyone have an app they like?

I paid for this app too, which is why I'm really upset. The old one was free and was great!

Let me put it this way - even the plain spaghetti noodles with plain spaghetti sauce on the buffet weren’t good. 🥴

It’s been a couple of years, but I remember the Hideaway-only restaurant (or maybe it was Diamond Club only?) being decent. Everything else, our highest compliment was “this is edible!” Again not trying to be a wah-wah-wahhh on your trip - you may love it with appropriate expectations!

Oh and definitely get your drinks from the Hideaway/Diamond Club bars - much better liquor choices than what’s at the regular bars.

This is the only Royalton I’ve been to, although with my younger DS (who is a senior this year), we are going to Royalton Bavaro, right next door. Fingers crossed (and snacks packed!) for a good trip!

Also I do want to reiterate that the resort is lovely, and the beach is gorgeous (according to folks who’d also been to the Hyatt Zilara), it was much better than the beach there. And the casino is tiny but was tons of fun.
Well I guess it's good we're going for free, LOL. I always bring snacks. So I'll be sure I bring some extras. Did you try the steakhouse? I see it's the same name as the Cancun one and we liked the one there.

Hi friends - it's been way to long! I haven't posted here in quite some time, but have popped in to skim posts. Wanted to check in with you on the right path to try for SW CP. I know I should have done this a few months back to have the full 2024 year covered, but alas, I did not get around to it and here we are. Because we are a family of 3, DH and I typically rotate CP so that one of us always has it for about 2 years. I'm up for 2024/2025, but I've been out of the loop for a while so I want to make sure I don't screw this up (more than I already have :rolleyes1).
Ideally I'd like to app for 1 biz and 1 personal card. Timing of last bonuses is not an issue. I have a legit biz, so I'm not concerned about that app. However, I just realized I hadn't closed my existing personal Plus card. I SM'd Chase to close today. Does this mean I really do need to wait the full 30 days before applying for another personal card? This is my primary concern, as this would push my CP back even more. I appreciate your help!
Way back in 2021, I was the original data point on the 30 day waiting period between cancel/apply for SW personal cards. They said it will automatically reopen your original card if you app within 30 days. I saw that others have already responded that no wait is necessary, so it may be that things have changed. I hope you will report back if you try it. Good luck!

Started to message both of you and then realized my Hyatt night at MCO Hyatt Regency is not until March and I don't even know if they have a club.

Still thanks for being generous with your offer and hope someone can enjoy!

I was just looking on the MCO one's website and couldn't find anything.

I did find that the room I have booked has increased in points to 18K so glad I booked early and was able to use my FNC.

If I remember right, we didn’t eat at the steakhouse because our butler could never get us a reservation there (we were a big group, which didn’t help, but lock down dinner reservations for the trip asap!)

Ugh, flight prices are awful! SW points hit DHs account today so I went to look what I could book for Spring Break. No nonstop WGA fares left except a red eye, cheapest is 55k one way. 😳 Cash price for a round trip with 1 am arrival in MCO and a flight with a stop on the way back was over $750. Ended up with the 1 am arrival on Friday night on SW from MDW to MCO, used my Hyatt FNC to stay at the Hyatt MCO. On the return flight, used AA miles to ORD, so yes will be flying out of one airport and back to another. That will cost me 2 Lyfts as well. 😩

I currently have 4 nights booked at the Conrad Orlando using FNCs and points but want to add a 5th. Can I get the SUB for the HH credit card if I already have the HH surpass? TIA!

Here are a couple of datapoints I wanted to share:

In late December I ordered a $50 Hilton giftcard on my Hilton Surpass to use my $50/quarter credit. The $50 credit just showed up today, and my Rewards tab for this quarter still shows $0 used. It appears that Amex used the purchase date, not the credit date for the quarterly credit. I’m going to wait a few days to make sure that doesn’t change, but then I’m planning to go ahead and order another $50 gc to not cut it so close next time!
I have an older Hh gc that I think I got around 5 years ago for $50.... I forgot about it till recently, and I have no idea if it's still valid. I tried checking on their website, they said it couldn't be checked....wwyd?

Quick non CC question. I have a checking account requiring 10 debit transactions per month for higher interest rate. Have been using Amazon GC reloads at .50 each. Looks like min reload is now $1. Since I’m using the account more like a savings account, I’d like to debit less.
What are people using for required debits?

I usually do Amazon reloads too - even though they raised them to $1, I figure it's a free $10 a month in Amazon gift cards. I don't know of anything for a lesser amount that you can do easily. At one point, I had money spread out and was having to do lots of small debits. I was worried that all of the small Amazon transactions would throw up a red flag, so sometimes I would go to the self checkout at walmart and buy small items that I needed. I would do multiple transactions at the self checkout, but I kind of worried that they would think I was up to something, so didn't love that either!

Back when I had one of those accounts that required 10 debits/mo, I would buy a single banana at a time at the self checkout counter at the grocery store. I ended up closing that checking account because I didn’t like having to meet that 10 debit/mo requirement.
