Just back. Had a wonderful vacation. We were on the DDP. It worked out
well for us with the exception of our 10 year old who is considered an
adult. He still enjoys the kids menu selections but we had to pay for him
as an adult. He of course was able to order from the kids menu. Every one
was very accomodating. Some places gave him bigger portions of the kids
menu. We had excelent service every place we ate. The only slight problem
was the food court. We stayed at POR. Great resort but unorganized food
court. Food wasn't bad though.
Okay, down to the main meals. I'll speak mainly for myself & DH. Kids menu
wasn't much to talk about.
Lunch at Sci Fi. - We had cheeseburgers, onion rings & shakes. Very good!

Dinners - MaMa Melrose (Fantasmic Package) I had chicken parm. I thought
it was good. Sauce a little bland for my taste but still good. DH had the
Fra Diavlo. He loved it!

Wolf Gang Puck Cafe - DH got a rib eye. Said it was cooked perfect. I had
the veal. Very good. Crispy on the outside. Very tender & a really nice size.
Oh, the crab cake appetizers were excellent. You get two per person. They
had a sauce around the plate that you could dip in to if you wanted. I did.
It had a nice kick to it.

Whispering Canyon - We all loved the atmosphere. It was a lot of fun. They
brought DH a HUGE coke. Kids did pony races. DH got the meatloaf. Said it
was pretty good. I tried the skillet. All was good. Glad we went there.

Concourse Steak House - DH got Filet. It had some kind of flavored butter on
it. Can't think off hand what kind of butter, but he said it really made the steak. I had the rib eye. Very good too. Very tender.

Coral Reef - I had the crab cake. I was very happy with that. DH had the
NY strip. Said it was good but he wished he had the butter that he had at
Concourse. Both got the butterscotch creme brulee for dessert, yum!

Boatwrights- breakfast - pancakes/eggs - pretty standard but good.

Counter service - other than POR food court we tried some place in AK park.
Restrauntosaurus (I probably made a mess out of that name) I think. It was
basically a McDonalds. Kids loved it. DH tried Yorkshire Fish & Chips. Said it
was okay. All in all, counter services were fine.

I have heard many complaints about bad food & bad service. I can't say I
had either. I think if you treat your server well, you will get the same in return. Also, we are all a little fussy when it comes to our food. Several times
I made small requests to make sure our food came out the way we like it. It
was never a problem & I think that's why we enjoyed our food. My advice,
order your food the way "you" like it & do it with a smile. It worked out well for us. Hope you found this review helpful!

gorgonzola butter....yummy!

Only 2 more days & I will be having my own serving. I've been waiting to eat there again since last October & my filet in gorgonzola butter was just delightful.

Sounds like you had some wonderful dining experiences. Thanks for sharing.

We really enjoy Concorse Steak House and Wolfgang Puck also :thumbsup2 . I have never been to Whispering Canyon but have heard alot of negative :sad2: reviews lately so glad to hear you enjoyed it!!!

JMDISNEY, I also booked Mama Melrose's with the Fantasmic Package in Jan. But now I am second guessing myself. I saw a menu on allears.net and the is a special menu for Fantasmic Package, like with no appetizers, just a salad for the whole family - which will not excite my family. So is it worth it? Are the reserved seats that good? Or should I just book a regular meal and get my own seats?

Enjoying reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

We were on the DDP. I'm not sure if you are or not. I questioned the menu
when we arrived. I think it is because we were on the DDP that we were able
to order off of the regular menu. We received a flat bread (pizza) as our family appetizer. It was a very good. We also received a family style salad,
our dinner & dessert. As for seating, basically they just have a section for
people that have the package to ensure that you get a seat. Your supposed to enter through a different entrance, but you don't have to. We didn't.
When we went it, we were assured a seat but we saw people on the other
side entering & sitting up until the start of the show. I guess it really depends
on how many people show up. As for better seating, no. You don't get better seating, just reserved seating. You would probably be okay not doing the package. Either way, don't miss the show. It was one of our favorite Disney
attactions.
