Cast of Characters:

Mom- 39, homemaker and School volunteer extraordinaire. "discovered" the DIS a few months before our trip. Takes lots of pictures for Creative Memories albums. (helping to write and edit trip report)

Dad- 39, department manager for consulting company. Wanted to ride everything at Disney.

Piglet- me! 13-yo girl, *NSYNC lover, excited about Disney and spent the whole trip looking forward to RnR

Eeyore- 13, mom's sister (she's adopted). Decided to go because she had never been to Florida, but not looking forward to all the "kiddie" rides

Buzz Lightyear- 10-yo boy, very witty and smart. Decided to be brave and ride every thrill ride.

Pluto- 6-yo boy, very excited because it was his first trip to Disney. Determined to not go on anything scary.

Mom and Dad have been to Disney 3 times before, I've been there twice, Buzz has been there once, and this is Eeyore and Pluto's first trip. We had been trying to plan a trip to FL and in August decided that we could go in the fall. Mom and Dad carefully considered if and when they should take us out of school and finally decided on the beginning of November. The teachers were okay w/ it and gave us most of our work before we left.

Friday 11/3- Monday 11/6
Flight to Orlando and visiting in Naples

Our flight left at 7:05p.m. on Friday. We had a short layover in Detroit and arrived in Orlando around midnight. Pluto was nervous- he thought the plane would crash. (Mom and Dad were the only ones who had been on a plane before) It was pretty much uneventful. At the Orlando airport, we got our luggage and figured out where the Alamo shuttle should be. We had to stand there and wait forever because people kept getting in front of us and the bus would pull into the space near them. After 3 buses with no room for us and our million bags (actually about 9) came and went, we finally got on a bus. At the Alamo place, it took 3 tries (about an hour) to get the right van w/ the right paper work, even though we had a quicksilver card. We finally ended up w/ an upgraded van. We got to the Amerisuites hotel near the airport at around 2 in the a.m. We finally went to bed around 3. *We do not recommend Alamo*

On sat. morning we got up, ate breakfast at the hotel, and drove to Naples. We spent the rest of Sat. and all of Sun. visiting Dad's brother and his family, and going to the beach. On monday we slept in a little, packed all our stuff back in the van, and drove back to Orlando. We arrived at Holiday Inn Family Suites (HIFS) at about 5. We had a jungle-themed room on the 3rd floor w/ a view of the pool. We took all of our stuff to the room, and then drove to the Contmporary, and then rode the monorail around Epcot. We got back to the Contemporary just in time for our 8:30 PS at Chef Mickey's. Waited only 15 minutes for a table. We had a waiter named Tom and when Eeyore needed more lemonade, she didn't know he was there so she says,"Hey Tom, I need some more lemonade," and he walked right past and heard her! Variations of this situation happened all through the meal, and it became an inside joke. Chef Mickey's was cool- good food, and good character interaction. The parmesan mashed potatoes were great! We all had lots of fun. After dinner, we ran down to the dock to watch the water pageant. It was nice. Then went back to HIFS, and Dad went back to Alamo to exchange the van for a smaller car.
*We do recommend Chef Mickey's and HIFS*
