I haven't been to US for a while and plan on doing it on this trip. Has anyone done the Mardi Gras Dessert Party and what did you think of it?
Special parade and Cinematic Spectacular viewing (plus desserts, sodas, prosecco)Never heard of it, didn't know it existed! I have never done any Disney dessert parties either, mostly because I'm cheap. Would you do it for the desserts or is there some special access? I have not found finding parade viewing a difficult thing, but I don't go during the busiest times.
We did the Christmas dessert party and we did feel it was worth it-crowds were nuts so was so nice to have dedicated viewing areas. Plus the snacks and beverages during parade, then desserts for Cinematic Spectacular were good. Our experience at the Christmas one was it was NOT oversold so we had plenty of room too. If crowds are nuts at Mardi Gras it may worth it. depends on what your tolerance/budget is.
Still thinking about it. I wish Universal would include some savory items...and a discount for pass holders would be nice. I think the dessert party does not start until March 13.
I enjoy the desserts, that's my problem! I have been doing well with nutrition and fitness for a couple of months now. I know vacation will be a splurge, but I'm worried I will try to get $50 worth of desserts and sparking wine if I pay for itI think we would do it if there were savoury items too......but not really dessert fans, so doubt we’ll do this.......but I think it’ll be a good addition for those that do enjoy desserts.......
Looks like there is a 20% AP discount for the Boil and the Dessert Party, but our passes won't be activated until we arrive, which is only a few days before we would want to go to the party. I wonder if it will sell out?

The night that works best with our plans is the last night of the parade, so I am worried about a sell out at least before we get there and can get the discount (March 31st for an April 4th dessert party). (I called and you have to buy the AP discount tickets in person) Not sure I want to spend the extra $40 to have it reserved now, though. I guess if we can't get tickets later, maybe it wasn't meant to be.I doubt it will sell out.
With 20% off, you have me reconsidering. We will probably wait to see what the crowds look like for parade viewing. Might be worth it not to have to save a spot.
TimTracker did a video of this from Saturday night (3/9) and it was pretty empty IMO - This was part of the crawfish boil - I assume the dessert party is the same areaI doubt it will sell out.

We did the Mardi Gras Parade, Desserts, and Cinematic Viewing Experience last night.
Great review and great pictures! I was too lazy to take any when we went. Was fun to sort of re-live the experience looking at your photos.
About how many other guests were there with you that night? Looks like a heftier crowd than we had, although it doesn't look like that many.
Does anyone know if there is still a dessert party/special viewing for Cinematic Spactacular, or was this only during Mardi Gras?
