hey everyone-

I've been out of commission the last two days with a migraine-:sad2: I'm still feeling yuck-o but I am up and about which is more than I can say for most of today.
At least I'm all caught up on the Young and the Restless AND Days of our Lives. :rotfl:
And...
I hadn't watched Y&R in oh, maybe 4 years, but after yesterday and today- it doesn't seem like I've been gone at all.
Dont'cha just LOVE when that happens???:rolleyes1

Sulley- awesome pics! The castle is beautiful!!!

Shelly- Oh boy- how did the dr's appt go? I hope everything is okay---

New Crew- we don't do any of the Facebook etc here- but my SIL does- she says that Facebook is better than MySpace b/c you can only have access if you're allowed or soemthing or another. IDK-:confused3

RF- hey- your ADR's look good. I will ask if you've ever been to Sci Fi??? We are not fans...:scared:

Katiebell- my TR... boy oh boy- I haven't done anything to it. All of the pics are gone and I haven't had the heart to start over again. But my trip really was fun, and I want to give an update. I'm just a bit freaked out.

Sea- hey are you still alive over on the other coast or has the expo swallowed you whole???:goodvibes

AlanR! Hey there! Good to see you've rejoined the MAYer crew! :snooty:

Mari--- how are you? Have you told your DD she is going back soon??princess:

Tomorrow, I shall go shopping if my head allows.

Oh yeah- what all do I need to buy for a Wii? I can order one online and that's all the kids want for Christmas- something about Mario cart 8 and Guitar hero- which one do I get??? and WTH is a nunchuck and do they need one or two or none at all??

I'm so technically challenged it isn't even funny.

I told Mark on Sunday that i wanted a very small cd player- something akin to a boombox, I said- to play my christmas cd's on.

Homeboy comes in three hours later with a box as big as Alaska and another box that's as big as Texas.
A *New* home theater system- he says- that will play my cd's soooo pretty throughout the house.

All. I. Wanted. Was. A. SMALL. Boombox.

He said it was a Christmas Present---- FOR HIMSELF. Bought under the guise of being MY Christmas present.

So I said that since it wasn't what I wanted- he could keep it for HIS Christmas present- and I was still expecting something cute and dainty, tied up with a ribbon under the tree.

He agreed.
So Merry Christmas to Marky- he got a whatever it is that he got- and i get to use it alllllllllllll day long while he is at work-- ( and truly- it is a nice boombox that isn't a boombox- it does sound good-)
and---
I still get my Christmas present. With pretty paper and ribbons.

So there.

HAVE A GOOD NIGHT Y'ALL.

Evenin' Mayers!!!
Hey Jo, Sea, Mari, Alan, RF, and all the other Mayers! Hope everyone's having a good week so far.

Hey Sulley! I tried to add you as friend. Not sure if I did it right. I am trying to figure this facebook and MySpace stuff out as ds13 is wanting to do it and I want to feel comfortable with it before I OK it. Jo's scare with the weirdo (even though I didn't see it) has me wondering. :rolleyes1

Hey NC! I got it, you did it just fine :)....I would definitely say that if you can steer her toward Facebook rather than MySpace it'd be better. I've cancelled my MySpace account because of all the junk on there and I didn't have nearly as much control over it as I do Facebook. It also seems to be a lot harder to monitor or restrict access to a MySpace account compared to Facebook. (just my two cents)

Hi guys!
Sulley, I just loved your Christmas decoration pics :goodvibes The castle looks so magical with all of the icicle lights. I can't wait to see what DL looks like for the holiday...I love Christmas music too. What are your favorite CDs? I really like most of my Mannheim Steamroller, but didn't like the one they released last year so much. And I like a lot of the old standards...like Bing's White Christmas.

Thanks KB! There isn't much Christmas music I don't love. Some of my favorites are Mannheim Steamroller (they're from near where I'm from), Trans-Siberian Orchestra, the Charlie Brown Christmas, Kenny G, the standards, like Bing, Ella Fitzgerald, and Sinatra. I also like Clay Aiken's christmas album, Josh Groban's, and Diana Krall's. Some of my absolute favorite songs for the season are
One Bright Star - Vince Gill
This Christmas - Reba McEntire
Same Old Lang Syne - Dan Fogelberg
O Holy Night by just about anyone

In general, I just love Christmas music :)

hey guys so Im thinking of moving my resort to pop I will pay the same and b able to add ddxp. So I think I'll change it that way my dd will b able to see all the tall statues they have. Any advice oh yeah I need to get prefered room. What do u guys think.

My kids say get both Mario Kart and Guitar Hero.

DS says for every Wii mote you get you need a nunchuck. Does that help? You may want to ask if the games you are buying need nunchucks. Go over to that Best Buy near your house. They are really nice there. I am sure one of those guys will help you.

My kids say the amount of Wii motes you need depends on the how many players your game allows and how many people you plan on allowing to play at the same time.

We have 2 Wii motes and 2 nunchucks. My ds rarely plays Wii. He plays PS3. DD likes the Wii. When she has a friend over they both can play Wii at the same time.

Some games will allow 4 players to play at the same time. If you want that to happen, you will need 4 Wiimotes and 4 nunchucks or WiiWheels or Wii rackets or whatever gadget you need for the game.

It's a racket I tell ya!

We have guitar hero for PS3. We have 2 guitars so that when ds has a friend over, they can jam.

Scary I know.

They LOVE guitar hero. I must admit that I think it is fun. (but I really stink at it.)

I do not understand any of this stuff. My ds is completely in charge of the gaming systems in our home. This is all advice from him.

Of the Wii games we have, DD likes Mario Galaxy best. We do not have Mario Kart, but it looks really fun. :thumbsup2

Good Luck and God Bless.

Whew!:rotfl2:

Mari - We have never stayed in a preferred room, but have always been given a standard room in the 60's building both times we were there.

That being said, if I were traveling alone and with a toddler, I would probably pay to stay preferred because you just don't know where you might end up.

Here is a map of the preferred rooms:

NC - so if you were traveling alone with a toddler would you go with POP or CBR....

ALso another question my MAYers... I found flights from 2 different airports... our home airport(EWR) is $249 pp... but at a airport(LGA) that is 1 hour away and $13 in tolls is for $159 pp thats almost a 200 saving with both my DD and myself.... and the flight that i would like to take are the earlyok here is the rundown and you tell me what you would do...

EWR - 249pp flight is at 8:35am..... be out of home by 6:30
LGA - 159pp flight is at 8:35am....be out by 5:30am

HELP... i want to book the flight before my DH changes his mind about sending us.... i can also wait to see if my home airport brings it down...i found flight to MCO from my home airport for Jan trip at 179..... I HATE decisions..... HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Long day today at Screenwriting Expo. Got three more days there. 10-6 pm. There are suppose to be about 3,000 people over the next few days. Already losing my voice. LOL. Already made some good contacts in the Hollyweird industry, hopefully, they will turn into clients.

Did anyone see this about my Disneyland??? It was on Access Hollywood tonight. Check out those AWESOME Space Mountain rockets!!! :cool1:

Sea

morning all... thanks for the video sea.... main st looks awesome....i'm glad you are getting more contacts... i'll send pixie dust that they become clients.

well regarding my post last night my DH said he doesn't mind driving to the other airport if it saves us like 200 ... so i'll be buying my airfare next week... I'm so happy that just makes it more real... now to figure out if i'll say at CBR with regular dp or switch to POP and get Ddxp.... onlyh reason i'm leaning towards dxp is because i wouldn't have to worry about any meals.. i wouldn't book all TS a couple to get my moneys worth but not all.... we'll see.... now with that i might just add in the CRT breakfast... and a couple more....

Morning MAYers! :goodvibes

Wow lots going on in MAYerland this week!

RF - We loved Sci-Fi! :thumbsup2 Had a great experience there! (JO and I don't seem to agree on many restaurants, do we??? :rotfl: )

Mari - Good luck on all your decisions about your May vacation.

JO - Don't let that weirdo keep you from finishing your TR!

Hi Sea, NC, Sulley, AR, & Katie! :grouphug:

Well DS7 ended up not needing glasses, so that was good. But, he has Amblyopia. His left eye is fine. His right eye has 20/40 vision, has very little depth perception, and is slightly turned inward. Therefore he has basically been "turning off" his right eye to avoid double vision and only using his left eye. This is nothing glasses could correct. The only option is to try to force him to use the right eye (the bad one) by covering up or blurring the good eye. The doctor says that this will usually correct the problem over time. So our choices were to either wear an eye patch over his good eye 2 hours everyday or to have drops put in his good eye on Saturday and Sunday to make it blurry. He wanted the drops. :confused3 I figured he'd want to be a pirate every evening for 2 hours pirate: , but he thought that was way too long I guess. I'm not sure I'm happy with either option, but I guess we will give the drops a try and we go back to the specialist in 5 weeks.

We are going out to dinner tomorrow night with DH's family for Thanksgiving. I know, a bit early. But it was the only time his one brother could get his kids from his ex or something like that. :confused3

Hi Shelly - So glad to hear that you found out what was happening with your son's eye.

I had the same thing too when I was younger. Had corrective surgery about the age of 7 or 8 and therapy for about a year. Vision became 20/20 for a while until I was about 13 and then got glasses for reading.

If not treated, a person can go blind in that eye. I know of a couple of people whose parents did not take action and it sadly affected their children.

I hope everything works out fine for your son. :)

Sea

Shelly - I'm glad you figured out what is up with your son's eye. My sister had the same thing when she was younger... she wore the patch and I feel bad now but we used to make fun of her... but her eye sight is great now...

Hi Sea - hopefully the next couple of days will go by fast for you.

Evenin' Mayers!!!
Hey Jo, Sea, Mari, Alan, RF, and all the other Mayers! Hope everyone's having a good week so far.

In general, I just love Christmas music :)

I love christmas music!!!!! My all time 2 favorite songs are Santa Baby by Marilyn Monroe, and my fav fav fav song is "What christmas means to me" by Stevie Wonder!!!!!! Not too many people know that one, but it is so good and upbeat and makes me so happy to hear it! :goodvibes I saw trans-siberian orchestra when they came the year before last and they were awesome!!!!

Sully - I looooove the pics of the MK! awwww! I want to be there at christmas time sooo badly!

:sigh: Someday :cloud9:

Hey thanks for everyone's input I decided on POP... i think my DD would enjoy that one better and when i go back with the whole family My DH, DD and myself we can stay at CBR..... Thanks again....

I ended up showing my DD pics of both pools and resorts and such and she likes POP more so POP it is.....

Just got off the phone with WDW and changed my resort to POP so now the total is $1798.17 with PH+more prefered room and Ddxp..... I'm ok i was paying close to 1900 just for regular dining plan...

SO from original prices i saved 448.61 YAY.... and i'm saving $200 from flying from a different airport.... I'm so excited... and POP looks great too....

Good morning, MAYers!

NC - Glad to know that you love the POP. I've subscribed to a few of the POP threads and our kids are really excited about staying there. We could stay at Coronado Springs again, but if we stay at POP we can extend our stay AND be on the Deluxe Dining Plan. :thumbsup2 Any info you can share with us about the POP would be helpful!

KatieBell - We certainly understand about catching up on some bills. We did not intend to go back again this year, but with this new deal and with our kids being at the ages they are (9 & 12), we are going to do everything we can to save up. We ordered the Disney Visa a few months ago, so at least we are earning Disney dollars AND we will have 6 months interest free to pay off our package. DD is going to need braces next year, so I'm sure this will be our last trip for a while.

Jo - Hi! :wave2: Great to be back on this thread, now that we know we'll be back this May! We have a Wii, so if I can answer any questions, let me know. The basic system comes with Wii Sports (which has 5 different games). It comes with one controller and one nunchuk. If you decide to get a 2nd controller, I would recommend buying a game called Wii Play. It costs around $50 and includes a controller. The controller alone is worth $40, so you are basically getting a game for an additional $10. (It isn't a great game or anything, but it is definitely worth the extra $10.)

Sulley - I'm with ya on the Christmas music! Being a musician myself, I love Christmas music! You mentioned Dan Fogelberg's "Same Old Lang Syne"....that is an all-time great song! It makes me sad, nostalgic, and thankful all at the same time.

Mari - I'd go with the POP and the Deluxe Dining Plan. (In fact, I AM going with the POP and the DxDDP!) Also, I think you all made a good choice with flying from LaGuardia. When I fly, it is usually much cheaper to fly out of Atlanta than Birmingham. Although B'ham is closer, I almost always fly out of Atlanta.

Sea - Great link! Thanks for sharing! Hope your expo is going well.

Momof2 - Best of luck with DS7's eye situation. Hope you all had a great early Thanksgiving feast!

Heather&Bob - Great call on Stevie Wonder's "That's What Christmas Means To Me." Excellent song! Very happy and uplifting.

Have a great weekend, MAYers!

Alan

Thanks for the info, Mari. I'm beginning to wonder if they are not going to post the May hours until Dec. 22nd. The Buy 4, Get 3 Free deal ends 12/20. I wonder if any of this is related?

Great job on getting the 'hard to get' ADRs! The rest should be easy.

Congrats on POP Mari! I think that saving the money will make you happier in the long run :goodvibes

I read that the movie soundtrack is the number one selling c.d. this week.

hey everybody!

Thanks for the info on the Wii's- NC- and AlanR!

i went bright and early to Best Buy when they opened at 10am and walked right in and said to the first associate- "i know you probably don't have any- but I need a Wii." They said "Ooh- we just put some out last night- good thing you're here- they'll be gone by this afternoon."

So........ then I asked what I should buy to go with it, seeing that I have three kids-

$500+ later- we are the proud owner of a Wii- and some games and nonsense.:scared: I am still in sticker shock. I mean, I usually spend well over that for the kids for Christmas- we usually spend around $1500 or so total --- but not that much all at once. YIKES!!!:scared:
I called my BFF and told her to get over there quick- and she was able to get one as well. I told her not to tell her Dh b/c I knew he'd call Mark and tell him before I got a chance to - and of course she threw me under the bus. :rotfl: I was on the phone with her after she finished shopping and Mark called me on the other line. I picked up the phone and both her DH and Mark were on speaker phone asking what "Wii" were doing this weekend.
Good grief. I love her anyway.:rotfl2:

BTW- AlanR- I did get the Wii Play pack- the man at Best buy told me it was worth the extra $10. If he said I should get it- it went into the cart, LOL! So thanks for the suggestion!

Shelly- I hope that you're able to get the drops in your baby's eyes- that's awful- but at least it isn't all the time. He might get a bit disoriented and dizzy so be on the lookout for that.

RF_ I'm currently halfway thru the 4th book- and Mcat and I will be at the movie next weekend. Can't wait- but i am a bit sad over who they cast as Edward. He looks NOTHING like what I envisioned.:rolleyes1

Hope everyone has a great weekend. i'll be watching Tebow :lovestruc --- I mean, ahem- FLORIDA ---- play South Carolina!!! The old ball coach is headed back to Gainesville to play once again in The Swamp--- should be interesting!

Have a good one!

Jo

Yeah, and I also read that it was very uncommon that this happens before a movie is even released! :goodvibes I can't wait!
