Both our parents divorced and remarried when we were young. Due to this we have quite a large family. Between our parents, brothers, sisters, and their spouses and children we are planning on anywhere between 29 and 53 people who could attend that we would invite. We live in KY and have family in NY (we moved from there 5 years ago), AL, GA, FL, VA, and OK. We have chosen to hold our vow renewal in Dec because that is the only time we really love to visit WDW because of the extra decorations.....we also got married that month. Therefore many may not be able to attend because that is an expensive time of year or their children would still be in school.
We will be leaving with quite a large caravan of vehicles from KY on the first Friday of Dec....staying the night somewhere and arriving Sat at WDW early afternoon. We will hold our renewal Monday...stay Tuesday and then my husband, Muzby (must be crazy-for getting another dog) and myself will leave for a private vacation somewhere in the Florida keys. My hubby is planning that as his surprise. The rest of our family will be staying at WDW for 3 more days. My fathers side are Disney addicts and go yearly.
All my husband and I are certain of so far is that we will do a plated dinner, open bar, and either dessert cruise....or dessert later that night at Epcot for the Illuminations. We want our vow renewal to be around 5:00-6:00 with a cocktail hour before dinner. We have just only started looking at venues. I know from previous trips that early Dec can be warm and sunny or unbearably cold. We have to choose indoor locations.
