We made it back to POFQ and changed into some dry clothes, hit the gift shop and the arcade then called a cab and headed to The Boardwalk and one of our favorites ESPN Zone!!
We have been here a couple times and really enjoyed it, always good food, good service and my son thinks its like "Sports Heaven" so how can we not go
So again this was just the 4 of us, I have no clue where the other two were and at this point, honestly i was ok with that
It had been a loooong week and as much as we said somthing about certain things there was alot we didnt, so the entire day alone just the four of us (all but an hour or so in the morning) was just what he doctor ordered
The rain was still coming down pretty good so we headed straight to ESPN and my son was "starving" so we (well him & daddy) had a starter...Red Wings - Medium, Hot, Flame, Teriyaki, or Barbecue served with Celery and Blue Cheese Dressing $11.49
They chose medium and loved them! Not to spicy but a little tang just how my son likes them, daddy on the other had would have picked Hot if they were just his!
my son chose the ESPN Dinger Sandwich - Breaded Chicken Breast tossed in a Medium Sauce $10.49
i was shocked as they had a Chicken Caesar Salad on the menu but he went with his other favorite a chicken sandwich! He asked for the medium sauce on the side so he could dip. I think with just having the wings the sandwich in sauce would have been a little much.
Now if you were reading along you know my family love for Ribs, so it was a no brainer that my DH & DM were going to choose the Rack 'em-Ribs with the Fixins - Ribs with Sweet n Tangy Barbecue Sauce served with Coleslaw, Corn on the Cob, and your choice of Cucumber Salad or French Fries $20.99
So after a week of seeing these guys eat ribs and asking our really nice waiter if they were swimming sauce or not, which he informed that no they werent, I also chose the Ribs!
Holy Cow!!! There were two slabs of ribs on this plate, one over top of the other with fries underneth!! I mean WoW, I swear we could have all shared one dinner!! my goodness it was a boatload of ribs!
That said, oh my lord were they good We tried putting a dent in them, but as Man VS Food says...Food Won! So we packed them up to take with us and well since we were packing things why not pack up dessert, I mean hey it is vacation after all!
Here were th dessert choices, A Sweet Ending to Your Celebration . . . Rocky Road Cake - Chocolate Cake layered with Chocolate Mousse, Walnuts, Marshmallows, and Fudge Sauce $5.99
Boston Cream Pie $5.99
Lemon Meringue Pie - Graham Cracker Crust with Fresh Lemon Filling and a Toasted Meringue $5.49
Bananas Foster Cream Pie - A new twist to an old classic, layered high with fresh Bananas and Custard over Banana Bread and White Chocolate Whipped Cream $5.49
Four desserts, Four People well it only makes sense to pick one of each! We had a taste testing later that night, and really it was a taste testing because more than a bite we might have blew up!
they were all tasty in there own right holding true to what they were but oh my loving goodness was the Bananas Fosters Cream Pie AH MA ZING!!!! lordy have mercy, I mean kids that is right up there with The School Bread in Norway, The MagicCookie bar at Riverside and the Napoleon from the Bakery in France! yes I swear it is that good!
Do yourself a favor and head to ESPN, from appy's to dessert this place rocks! and whatever you do get that Banana Fosters Dessert
So after rolling out of there we did a little shopping at the Boardwalk before calling a cab and heading back home to pack as tomorrow is our last day
