My Disney Planning Binder

This is an amazing idea! Definitely might have to create something... :scratchin Especially since I'll be with a first timer! :thumbsup2

Finally finished my binder! I got some wonderful and awesome ideas from you ladies so thanks a bunch. I can't wait to post pictures..lol

working on my binder..27 days and counting!:cheer2: Does anyone know where I can get post card size copies of the menus? I found some while looking through the DISigns board, but it was made in 2008, im sure there has been some changes. thanks!

Bump

Love all the ideas. Would love to see some more planners. I will be creating ours this summer for our November Adults-Only 20th Anniversary trip  and would love some more ideas.

Hello all!

I was so inspired by this composition book turned Disney planner that I pinned on my Pinterest and then I saw this board and I got to work on my new planner! While working on that planner I realized I have a Disney Planning Binder already! LOL It's from our 2006 trip!

Yep your basic binder!

Here's the inside cover- I had a map of Disney World!

And these were the sections.

My sections were:

Timeline- I had printed several planning timelines

Budget- Lol Several budget sheets

Pre Trip- Had packing lists & some tips I had collected over my extensive research

On Tha Road- Confirmation sheets for airline travel, ground transportation, a sheet called "We're Driving to Disney World, tips on taking road trips

Group Papers- Information for traveling with more than 10 people

Hotels- Confirmation sheets for hotel reservation

Lodging/Check In- Checklist for when checking in hotel, also kept track of payments sent in here

Dining- Snack list, menus, advance reservation information

Itinerary- Day by day sheets, location of press penny & quarter machines

At the end, I had a page protector and still have Disney maps in there! :)

And here's a preview of the new planner in progress...

I've shortened it down to one checklist, a contact sheet, the ultimate packing sheet, car trip information, snack list section, a calendar, a budget section. Then the rest will be filled with the places we are hoping to go next summer. We won't be going to Disney World unfortunately but to the many Texas parks and then hopefully the waterparks in Florida :)

I'm so excited!! I have completed my binder & just have final touchups like a front page & a few re-do's (front page of itinerary printed out kinda wonky), but for the most part I'm thrilled with it :artist: I can't take most of the credit though - I was inspired by the binder Shannon made on her website wdwprepschool.com - its the binder from HELL! Its everything I was dreaming of and more :worship: I just copied her format since I didn't have the $$$ to have it made professionally. I bought a 8.5x5.5 binder because I didn't want to carry a big bulky binder in the parks. I bought the statement sized paper protector sheets & printed everything at home. I made my binder tabs using clip art found through Google & cutting them down to size so it would fit in my binder. And the tabs are filled with the plethora of information found on wdwprepschool.com & a few other links found here on the DISboards. Of course I personalized it to my liking, but for the most part its all her hardwork, so thanks Shannon! I also copied the itinerary from a previous poster on this thread that gave out the templates. Sorry I don't have the name but I thank you too!! I did add some references I wanted that I created like my unique souvenir pages and fast pass info, and it was a bit more tedious putting it all together because printing in statement size is not a standard setting for pics printed from Windows so it took some time saving as PDF's, etc to get it just right, but I managed it & I'm not at all any type of IT genius so it wasn't that bad & I think it was worth it to have the smaller size binder.

Here's my pics in order:

Happy planning!!!

I am so thrilled to see your post with pics!!! This is like porn for us Disney Planning Nerds! :rotfl2:

Your binder is amazing, especially the size!:thumbsup2 I like your section for souvenir ideas, very smart. And the Photo Pass Map and Parade route maps are brilliant!

Thanks for going to the trouble post pics, I know that's not always easy. :goodvibes

Tarrah - Love your binder especially your tabs! They look great!

Disney Planning Binders are awesome and addicting! I am in process of building a new one for my November trip. I just changed dates so I am updating my itinerary etc.

I love it! I have a trip journal where I sort of do the same thing. Write in it about the trip and what I've done, save clippings and different things from the trip. Decorate it with papers and stickers and stuff. :)

You just gave me an idea. I wonder if my traveling companion would like to make her own little book. Like a memory book about the trip. I think I will get her one with some stickers and stuff. She could even add some pix if she wanted when she got home.

Thanks. :)

I have always planned out trip with my inner OCD allowed to come out. I have alway organized and had a plan for each day. But i have never put it in a binder only a rough draft of days on my phone under notes and hard copies of flight, car rental, ect in folder with everything stuffed in there, it get very unorganized. soo no I have found this thread and am loving everything I see  and will begin making my own. and I will use it for memory puposes putting some pics in there when we get home. thank you in advance for all your great ideas. :thumbsup2

I've been so inspired by this thread that I had to create my own planning binder! Thank you to everyone for sharing their ideas, they are great! I have finally got mine (almost) finished and decided to post a few pics! A big thank you to the DISigners on the Creative DISigns thread who share their disigns, just awesome! I didn't take pictures of all my pages (maps, confirmation emails, etc). So excited for our trip in 11 days!
Note: it is a mini-binder, 5 1/2 X 8 1/2
