Which is so weird to me because can't they not fill the Dream in Europe as it is? I was almost certain that they'd consider the Dream-class in Europe to be a failed experiment and send the Magic back there instead.
I’ve heard they don’t want to send the Magic back because of the amount of miles she does going across every summer.
European maritime law prohibits the Magic from returning to Europe because she is greater than 25 years in age.
The EU, UK, and airlines haven't helped things either. Taxes on airfare alone are absolutely brutal. There have been a few times I've found pretty good deals on cruises themselves but the flights to London or Rome were like $10,000+ for my family. Disney's market is heavily American and heavily families, making airfare costs the single biggest obstacle to those ships filling up.
I wonder if the Fantasy will have a similar dry dock to the one scheduled for the Dream in 2024? It would make sense to swap in the Fantasy for the summer season and then do the dry dock while she's in Europe.
The exchange rate from USD to Euros/GBP is the best it’s been for years but if you’re cruising that probably doesn’t help anyone at all, since the cruise is in USD and the exchange rate for Europeans is poor, and the flights are expensive for Americans.
I don’t think this is true as Vision of the Seas is going to be sailing Europe. She is the same age as the Magic.
There are plenty of ships cruising in Europe that are older. Not sure where you got that info from.
Yes, that’s the general conclusion. There has been the assumption that Fantasy would come to Europe since her last itinerary in spring 2025 Ende 5/3 and the Dream has plenty of cruises in May out already. And it makes sense, they are only a little over one year apart in age. Dream was delivered December 2010, Fantasy February 2012.

I don’t doubt that you were told this, but I just can’t find anything on this. There are rules coming up about which fuel can be used and that they need to plug into the electric grid for when they are n port. But they just put that into the Magic in the last dry dock.
