Hi, I would like to see a photo of the Crystal Palace podium cake, the one with the mickey pic on it. I called today and was told that the podium cake is made by Sara Lee and treenut free! They can put a sugar Mickey on it for me,
I just need to see a photo and see if its what I want.
I went through the cakes thread and even did a search and can't find it.Thanks in advance!!!

My husband and I were married at Epcot last year and recently celebrated our 1st anniversary with a private dinner at the Grand Floridian (but we were originally having dinner at Narcoossee's) where we had a replica of our cake made for us. They did a pretty good job replicating some of the features of our original. They ended up just doing buttercream frosting without any fondant when I asked them to reduce the price a little and that was fine with me because I love the frosting!

Here is our original cake for comparison:

The cake came from the Grand Floridian Bakery which I ordered by calling: 407-824-2474. The cost was $75. We had a chocolate cake with chocolate peanut butter cup filling which was our favorite layer from our wedding cake!

Thanks so much for replying!!!! Your cake is beautiful, I love the colors and the layers!!!!!!! And I love the duplicate they made for you..too cute!!!!

I'm sorry as I'm SURE this has been covered somewhere but I cannot find the answers....

Can you order anything else for dessert other than a traditional cake? (DH doesn't like "cake" but his favorite dessert on earth is anything with peaches in it!) OR - can you order carrot cake?

And other question - is it more expensive to get a cake delivered to the resort room rather than to one of the restaurants?

And what options are there for cakes at KONA?

Can someone post a link to the cakes on the "what will you celebrate" part of the website? I can't seem to locate it.

Also, can you tell me if I can get a Tinkerbell cake at Crystal Palace? If not, what are the options there? My DD will be celebrating her 13th birthday on our trip. She's wished to be at WDW for her 13th for about 4 years so it's a really special trip.

I'm sure this is on another thread - but I can't find it.

Can I order a slipper cake for our lunch at CRT?
How do I do that?

Is dessert included with lunch at CRT - so maybe getting the slipper cake is not such a good idea?

I'd appreciate advice from any who have BTDT.

If you call Private Dining at the resort where you'll be staying, they usually have a selection of edible treats, like truffles, chocolate-covered strawberries, or a cookie plate, that can be delivered to your room.

And other question - is it more expensive to get a cake delivered to the resort room rather than to one of the restaurants?

No, there is no delivery charge at either location. The exception would be in a case like that of a recent poster who had the Grand Floridian make her a wedding-style cake and deliver it to her room at the Contemporary. But I'm not sure how common that is...

Will Ohanna's store a cake for you when you eat there and want to go back to the park?

Probably not - there are stict health codes that regulate what the WDW restaurants can put in their refrigerators. :sad2:

Has anyone ordered a custom cake with one of the more unusual flavors listed in the first post, or are those limited to wedding cakes? I'm thinking specifically about the passion fruit mousse filling...

We're going to be in Disney in May with a lot to celebrate - my mother's birthday, my birthday, and the rebuilding of my mother's home which burned down last fall - and I really want to order a VERY special cake to surprise my mom with at our arrival night dinner at Narcoosees. We've ordered fairly standard 10' cakes (yellow cake, custard w/ strawberries filling, white buttercream w/flowers on one, chocolate buttercream w/Mickey sprinkles on the other) on two previous birthday trips and I'd like to do something a step up from that this time, maybe something along the lines of the "gift" cake on pg 108.

Thank you so much, we were really happy with the cake at the wedding and our anniversary cake last week!

Wow...what a lush cake...your wedding cake was very impressive.

Did it taste nice??
Yes, most importantly it was delicious. The chocolate peanut butter cup filling was the best :thumbsup2

I am going with my friend for her 40th birthday and she has Celiac disease.
I was wondering if anyone has ever gotten a gluten free cake at disney and how it was. How would I go about ordering such a thing?:confused3

Will they deliver, or will we have to pick up and get it to CRT somehow?
Does anyone know?

Also - is there dessert with CRT already included?

You may want to head over to the DISabilities forum
there are links there in SueMN and Cheshire Figments Sigs
and you can get the number and email for special dietary needs.

I have never had a gluten free cake at WDW but have head a brownie like dessert cut into a wedge like a cake- it was kinda like a slice of cake
very sweet and gooey- normally served with sliced strawberries and whipped cream. Most table services have it available.

You can email the Special diets team and they can help you with ideas of where to eat for special needs.
I do like WDW for allergies and dietary needs:) They are awesome, helpful and I eat very nicely- they have yummy tapioca rolls too that are wheat and gluten free.

I would personally love it if there was a "cake porn" thread. This thread and the one proceeding it have become unwieldy to say the least. The thread is constantly high jacked with questions of, "I need a cake for so and so, what is the number I call" or "I want a cake at POP will they deliver it to my room?". Having a stickey at the beginning with a FAQ and all the numbers and a strict only picture policy would be wonderful.
