Doing the Happy Dance Shawn and I have decided on our dates. June 8-18. We will be staying at SOG, wanted to get my room reserved but that date isn't open yet. Looks like we may not be doing Universal, so instead we are doing an 8 day park hopper pass, and 1 day at Busch Gardens.

It is so hard being so far out from the date, there is only so much planning you can do . So for now, I have written down the EMH for this month, and made up a mock calender on what parks what days, so I can figure out where we will want to eat. I can't wait till I can make reservations. when that time gets here I can really get it all figured out. but I am going crazy and needing to do something.

Got my Disney planning folder out, and starting to print out menus, and drool over some food porn. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

We took the plunge today and will be staying June 4-10 for son's 10th birthday. We are staying at CSR. I hope we will like as one the main reasons was for the pool.

That is correct,you would be arriving with separate tickets. You would be booking room only...but they can be added at check in. If you don't mind me asking...were the tickets really cheap at the PX/BX?? Just curious if they have them at the old prices as well.

Honestly, I have no idea what the price is on post yet. I'll let you know when I do find out though.

Finally have a reservation number in hand!!! Man rooms in deluxe resorts book up FAST!! We were planning on staying at the CR for 7 nights, but that fell through. 5 people in our party and now they only have king size rooms available. Price for 2 rooms would have been through the roof. Its ok though. We have since decided on doing a split stay. The kids are really excited over the photos of ASMo (and I'm not going to complain about it costing us less either) So we have chosen to do 4 nights at ASMo and 3 nights at the GF. I called today and booked the GF and I'm pretty much in a state of disbelief. Been dreaming about this all my life and we are finally on our way. Just have to book ASMo and count down the days...Why can't it be 2012 already?

Any other military families done a trip to WDW on here? What do you think of the savings that Disney offers?

Also, has anyone else ever done a split stay with a dining plan before? The day you change reservations, does your Dining Plan overlap from the first and the second resort? ( I forgot to ask them this morning)

We are a Airforce family. And we have gone on 2 trips using the military discounts. We mainly use the room discount...for deluxe stays. We have stayed at GF and the Poly. Poly was by far our favorite. We stayed at SOG one night, we arrived a day early. It was very nice and quite. You should give them a call.

We wanted to stay at the AOA but they only have the little mermaid suites open and it'd cost an extra $1200. So, we'll probably just hop over and visit. We're going to stay 2 or so days at POFQ and then transfer to Pop! We usually go at the end of July/early August. Does it seem less crowded at the beginning of June, or is it about the same as July. If I can survive July, I can go to Disney anytime!

The 2011 offers have been extended to 2012. Military gets a discount on hotel accomodations. Its 30% off value resorts, 35% off moderate and 40% off deluxe and deluxe villas. So you may be closer to staying in a "real" Disney resort than you realize.

I booked June 2012 a few days ago! Woooo Hoooo!!!

June is MY BIRTHDAY month and it will my first time visiting WDW for my bday!!

We arrive on MY birthday JUNE 13TH, day 2 JUNE 14 is MY DAUGHTER'S 12th Birthday and FLAG DAY and later in the week is FATHER'S DAY!! We are brining my parents along so they can celebrate with us!

Thanks so much! I called Disney yesterday and BLT still isn't released. Oh well. We decided that we want to stay at CR as our backup hotel. We will be booking in just a week or so!!! So excited! I'll be more excited once the trip is paid off though I will keep calling and checking back to see if BLT opens up and I can change my res. The CM I spoke to said the dates should be available in late August/early September. Its crazy, the more I look at the other resorts, I'm already fantasizing about future return trips. Do any of you have any Grand Gathering "must do" dining? Any dining in general that we should do? So so many options, I'm going crazy but WAAAAAY excited!

BTW, this sounds random, but what are the bathtubs like at the CR in the standard rooms?

Have you thought about renting points? Right now is the time members who own at BLT can make reservations for next June. It would save you so much money compared to what Disney would charge you.
