My biggest Disney mistake may be reading this thread! I'm scared now! I've never been there yet- my mother is taking the whole family (Mom, Dad, me, my 3 kids (17, 17, and 10), my middle sister, her husband, her 10 yo dau., and my youngest sis (27).
I'm not one of those people who can expect to go back every year after this. We're not well-off people, and we're sort of looking at this as a once in a lifetime thing. The only reason we're going now is that my mother is using part of her lump sum retirement to take all of us.
I'm now just envisioning all the waiting in line for transportation while continuing to debate whether we could walk there faster, all the discussion about who wants to do what, gambling on when to leave to make it to an ADR, running to try to get a fastpass and missing it, cranky tired kids, and how you balance the line between 'don't carry a purse' and 'carry everything you could possibly need, Just In Case!' That and 'don't overplan, but do your homework, research everything, etc.'
It's not until late May and reading all this stuff, I almost dread it!
That's not how it's supposed to be, right?
