Palazzo, Wynn or Venetian?

We're going to Vegas in October for a couple of days and wonder if anyone has stayed at any of these hotels and has any impressions?
We used to live there, but it's been awhile. We're going to go to see Jersey Boys and La Reve and it's my understanding that these hotels would work well either being super close or actually having one of the shows in them. The price is pretty close, so any other deciding factors?

I haven't been tempted into the Wynn because it is further down the street.

The styling of the Palazzo is a little calmer than the Venitian, more classic I guess you could say.

The Wynn is more stylish or modern than the Palazzo.

When I've gone to LV I've always wanted somthing exotic and to sum it up the Wynn is more of a highly decorated hotel from any city.

I like the Venetian the best, though I would say for a older crew maybe the Palazoo is better. It's a little set off from the bustle of the Venetian.

I have stayed at the Wynn in the Tower suites. Nice rooms and great service. Stayed at the Encore too, which is right next store and sort of part of the Wynn. I liked the rooms better then the Wynn, but the service at the Wynn was better. It has been years since I have stayed at the Venetian and we liked it, but I have heard the rooms are getting run down.

We just got back but didn't stay in any of these hotels, we have a timeshare so we used our points and stayed there instead. :) We did walk thru the Palazzo & Venetian (saw the Blue Man Group and took a Gondola ride at the V) and we thought the Venetian was beautiful.....if we were staying anywhere other then our timeshare we would pick the V out of your list. :)

I loved the Venetian itself just not my room location. We were on the 33rd floor facing the pool area. We could hear the music all day and night like it was playing inside the room. And that was considered an upgrade for the view.

I've never stayed at any, sorry..... but my auntie loves the Venetian and/or Palazzo. She only stays there and says she never wants to leave the room and she's one of those who will gamble all day and night :)

I LOVE Palazzo!!!! Venetian is pretty similar but Palazzo is the newer of the two so my vote goes to that. You share the pools at Venetian and have your choice of like 8 pools: One that you can put your lounge chair in the water and just enjoy the sun! It's wonderful! And the rooms are just outstanding. Enormous and beautiful! :)

I stayed at the Palazzo last year and loved it! Had a great room on the 14th floor facing front. Could see the Treasure Island show from my window. Also stayed at the Paris for part of the trip and was not impressed at all, although I love the themeing of the Paris casino!

I stayed at the Encore last year and absolutely LOVED it. Great rooms and a terrific hotel overall! Very quick walk through a small shopping corridor between Encore and Wynn. La Reve is at the end of the corridor, just as you hit the Wynn.

A word of warning about the Venetian (can't speak for the others as I've never been there). If you have allergies or have a problem with strong smells, don't stay there. There is a very strong perfume smell in the lobby and gaming area.

My SO has allergies and these kind of smells set them off. We were staying across the street at the Mirage and went to pick up tickets to Wayne Brady that evening. By the time we got back to our hotel she was having a problem breathing. It passed after a while, but she was done for the day. When you only have four days. losing one of them to something like that is a real downer.

My SO did talk me into going to the show by myself so that we didn't eat the full cost of the tickets, but it would have been nice if she could have gone with me.

Got back yesterday from the Palazzo.

The Good:
1. Not too big, calmer than Venetian
2. Good casino
3. Really big rooms with awesome tub.
4. Comfy beds

The bad:
1. Could not watch TV from large tub
2. Wall Mirror broken by nightstand
3. Toilet room door was warped and hard to open
4. Large chunk of baseboard missing

The WORST:

The stain on the down comforter I found when I turned down the bed for the night. Ewwww! Really surprised how hammered the room was for all the good reviews.

Considering how beat up the room was I wonder if there were some hard partiers in there.

Maybe Sands need to take care of thier resorts instead of building them in china.

Venetian is the best hotel on the strip for my money. You'll never find a nicer room. If you're looking for a splurge, the concierge level in the Venezia tower is awesome. Happy hour and breakfast provided, great views of the Venezia pool area, separate private check in, the works!

I've stayed at all 3 and I really like the Wynn...I've never had a bad experience at eiter hotel...By far The Hotel at Mandalay Bay has been the best hotel that I have stayed at on the strip.

I've stayed at all three within the last 2 years.
Palazzo gets my vote.
Less fussy decor than the Venetian and newer. My room (last June) was immaculate. All three are nice, but Palazzo is right in the middle, so easy to go either direction.

I have stayed at the Venetian (albeit a few years back) and I have stayed at the Wynn (last year). I much preferred Venetian. I like the room at the Wynn well enough, but the music from the outdoor club patio from Encore kept me up really late (I know, who sleeps in Vegas?). I was unimpressed with the food at the Wynn and the service was a bit lackluster when it came time to change rooms (to avoid the nightclub). I love the look of Palazzo and would like to stay there sometime soon.

The wynn is more contemporary and elegant, while the venetian is more Faux-luxe/themey. The "suite" at Venetian felt more like a big bedroom with a step down to a living area. It wasn't a huge selling point for the room if you ask me, because it was so narrow that the space didn't FEEL like a spacious suite.

On the other hand, there are cheaper restaurants and the mall closer to the Venetian, but the Wynn was a bit of a further walk to interesting things to see and do. The restaurants there are excellent but a bit overpriced for some of them.

The Wynn was less smokey (though all casino's are smokey...it's vegas!).

I can't comment on the Palazzo.

I probably wouldn't stay in either again, because I like to try new spots, but also now that we have a kid, neither seems ideal. We would try the Mandalay again though, as we like that corner of the strip (closer to Bellagio and NYNY, Luxor ) better.

They are all very side-by-side on the same side of the Strip. I would go for either one since they are all fantastic. If you aren't picky about which one you get, give Priceline a try and bid North Strip 5 star. These are the only three 5 star hotels in this bidding zone (now that Trump is now in its down zone). You will save A LOT of money.

We have stayed at all three and I would have to put another vote in for the Palazzo. :cool1: We were lucky to have great rooms in all three of your choices but the Palazzo staff was really the best and seem to cater to our every "whim". But really all three that you are debating about are all in a row so you would be able to enjoy all that they have to offer by staying at any one of them.

I haven't stayed at Venetian/Palazzo but know they have some of the biggest standard rooms on the strip, but are beginning to show their age. I am NOT typically bothered by odors (no allergies or asthma) BUT I am VERY bothered at Venetian (pity, a lovely place). Noticed it most in poker room.
No definitive difference between the 2 resorts, imo.
Great choices for dining & shopping. Bit of a better location than Wynn.
Wynn is LOVELY--resort & rooms, if a bit north for my taste. We were disappointed w/ meals--$10 for BLAND breakfast sandwich at "coffee shop". Stratta had great pizza but our sit down meal was more hit & miss for the 6 of us. Sportsbook sandwich shop was also hit & miss.
We did have great luck at penny slots there (my first at penny slots!) GREAT drink service & WONDERFUL chocolate martinis!!
Wynn is a nicer resort overall, imo, but V/P has some definite advantages.
