I purchased an add-on a few weeks back and took some photos of the model rooms that folks might find interesting:

Here's a shot of the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-StudioBedroom1.jpg TARGET=_blank>studio's bedroom.</A>

Here's the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-StudioBedroom2.jpg TARGET=_blank>reverse view.</A>

Here's a close-up of the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-StudioBedroom2.jpg TARGET=_blank>wonderful headboard.</A>

Here's a shot of the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-StudioKitchenette.jpg TARGET=_blank>kitchenette in the studio.</A>

And here's the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-Vanity.jpg TARGET=_blank>vanity outside the bathroom.</A>

Okay, now we move into the one-bedroom. I took a shot of the door between the studio and one-bedroom -- definitely not your everyday door. Unfortunately, I didn't upload it yet. I'll try to do that soon.

Here's a shot of the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-OneBedroomKitchen1.jpg TARGET=_blank>kitchen.</A>

And here is a shot of the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-OneBedroomLivingRoom1.jpg TARGET=_blank>living room.</A>

And the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-OneBedroomLivingRoom3.jpg TARGET=_new>reverse shot.</A>

I like the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-TableSettings.jpg TARGET=_blank>new tableware.</A>

And some of the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-TileDetail2.jpg TARGET=_blank>new tile</A> is really nice.

Here's a <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-OneBedroomLivingRoom2.jpg TARGET=_blank>view from the living room into the bathroom.</A>

Here's a shot of the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-BathroomVanity.jpg TARGET=_blank>bathroom vanity.</A> Note the nice tile on the wall and nice mosaic tile pattern on the floor.

<A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-BathroomShower.jpg TARGET=_blank>The shower</A> is oversized, just like at other DVC properties, but I like the narrower groutlines.

Here you can see how the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-BathroomPrivateCommode.jpg TARGET=_blank>commode</A> is in its own little private room -- a definite improvement.

And of course we get the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-BathroomJacuzzi.jpg TARGET=_blank>jacuzzi tub</A> that overlooks the bedroom.

Here's a shot of the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-MasterBedroom1.jpg TARGET=_blank>master bedroom.</A> The headboard isn't as nice as the one in the studio.

Here's the <A HREF=http://www.geocities.com/bicker_at_sturbridge/2001-01/VWL-MasterBedroom2WithViewIntoBathroom.jpg TARGET=_blank>reverse shot.</A> Notice how many different parts there are to the bathroom spread across the back of the photo.

Brian- thanks a lot!!!!

Your photos make VWL look soooooooo much more inviting than the DVC "Official" photos. I think the lighting makes a difference. I love the lamp in the studio!
Now I'm really looking forward to seeing them in person...the attention to detail is very cool!

Brian, thanks for sharing your great pictures. I have to say again that the VWL do look much better in person than the Disney pictures I had seen. I saw the Villas up close recently & was quite impressed.

Brian...Very professional. These are some of the nicest pictures I have seen of the VWL. The lighting was great. Enjoyed them all. Are you a photographer?

Thanks for sharing

Great pics Brian, DVC should pay you and use your pics. Great Job. It's still an ugly chair though.

Brian,

These are great pictures of the VWL or is it WLV? :). I got to see these rooms in person last week during a brief tour of the model rooms at BW. It was so quick that I didn't have the time to appreciate the details your photos show.

Since it was during a business trip, my wife didn't get the chance to see them since she didn't accompany me. Now she will be able to see them, too. Thanks for taking the time to post them.

We have reservations to stay there in August and are now looking forward to staying there more than ever.

thank you Brian! what wonderful pics you took. thanks again for taking the time to share with us.

Great job, thanks alot Brian.

I was looking through the pics and said to myself, darn that chair is ugly, I laughed out loud when I read Dean's comment on the chair.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs", Karl Marx, pretty sick, huh?

The studio especially seems well appointed. Great funishings!! It does seem tiny though. Maybe the darker furnishings make it look small. Of course, I come from OKW, so even BWV looks small to me.

Great pictures...thanks for sharing. I think I'll even consider staying at VWL after seeing those pictures.

Did you tour the grounds? How far away is the main pool- do you have to go all the way around the bldg as the map looks. What is the best way to get to the boat dock? Can you swim at the beach area?

The photos I took were of the model rooms, which are actually in the BoardWalk Villas Resort.

However, I have visited the actual resort, during construction, and took a few photos there. However, I believe Doc took more recent photos, and so I'll defer to him -- hopefully he'll post a link to his photos so you can see them.

I believe the walk to the main pool is basical around the leg of the main building -- it's really not a long walk -- surely less than two minutes. The boat dock is just beyond the main pool.

Swimming in any inland Florida lake is often hazardous to your health. Disney never allows swimming in its lakes.

Awsome pictures Bicker! What kind of camera did you use? Starting to look at the new digitals. I guessing you used a digital.

Our next trip is in October in a 2 bedroom at VWL,
265 days sure seems far away. Your pictures sure did satisfy my Disney fix for the today.

Here are some <a href="http://disneydoc.homestead.com/vwl3.html">exterior shots<a/> from Sept- before the resort was open. I have some more recent photos- but have not put them on the website yet.

Bicker's interior shots are great. The int. photos on my link were taken thru the window during a "stealth" photo tour!

As good as bicker's pictures are, I have yet to see any photos of the VWL rooms which truly convey the spirit of the resort. I am very impressed with the decor and layout of the villas. The Hidden Mickey's are plentiful and tastefully add to the decor of the resort.

Thanks so much for the pictures. They are great. I had seen this room at BW when we took our sales tour and liked them then. Since I printed them, I now have pics to add to my notebook of stuff I'm collecting for our trip in October! Call me crazy!
Does anyone know if all the studios at VWL have the sofa and bed? And is the bed a king, queen, or double? It matters much to my DH!!
Thanks again.

In the VWL studio, the bed is a queen bed and all will have the sleep sofa- which is a double.
In the dedicated 2BR's, I believe all 2nd BR's have 2 queens- like at OKW and HH.
