I have done four solo trips, all at POR. One year, I did 8 days, no parks, all resorts and it was fantastic. The advantage is you can end your day at a resort, take the bus to DTD and then take the water taxi back to POR. They run every 10 minutes after 4 pm. You can see the top of the volcano at RFC from the bus hub, and the boat dock is right there. Enjoy.
