We just returned from seeing 'Saving Mr. Banks'. It was everything I hoped it would be and yet, deeper and much more emotionally intense. Definitely not a child's movie. It touches on the raw wounds that drove P.L.Travors to pen Mary Poppins and how that, in turn, affected her ability, or better yet, inability, to release her story to Walt. Tom Hanks nailed this one and at the end, we all sat still, not wanting to leave the theater as the credits rolled by, highlighting original photos of Walt and Ms. Travors. Storytelling at its best. I spy an Oscar contender.
We saw it on Friday. I found any scenes without Disney in them to be boring and/or depressing.
No spoilers -It was incredible.

Oh, that worries me. I may wait. I do not want to be depressed:/
I thought the movie was amazing. It does focus heavily on Travers's life and there are sad moments. I had goosebumps through a lot of it, smiled and laughed a lot, and cried at parts too. If you're a fan of Mary Poppins, I wouldn't hesitate to see it. I actually want to see it again in theaters. I don't think you'll leave feeling depressed.
Penny Pincher said:As far as I can tell, many of the 'facts' of this movie are entirely made up at Mr Disney's benefit, of course. I would love to see it as I like both the leads, but I have no interest in being lied to by something purporting to be a true story. Mind you, that's most American 'historical' movies, always has been.
