Our favorite restaurant at MGM is the Brown Derby. We want to do a Fantasmic package. But I cannot see paying nearly $40 for my mom, 84, to eat there. I know there is no way she can eat an appetizer, a main dish and desert. We always have wine and or cocktails, so it isn't as though our bill will suffer, nor do we ever short the server's tip. Disney reservationist suggested we ask at the restaurant if my mom could just order off the menu. Anyone have any experience with this? Do we even need to worry if it is not an EE day at MGM on a weekday in January. say January 6-9? Is Fantasmic bound to be a one-two hour wait? Our party includes little kids and my mom and we just can't stand in line well.
