September 2023 W.I.S.H. šŸ‚Fabulous Fall šŸ

I love that quote!

Today, I'm thankful that we are leaving tomorrow morning to fly to a family wedding. Two of our kids and my mom are going on the trip with us. My mom is 79 and is probably nearing the end of her being able to travel like she loves to do. I'm thankful that she is able to make this trip with us! I'm thankful for the airlines accommodations that they provide. She will need a wheelchair to get to and from the gates before and after the flight as well as during the layover that we have. She walks fine, but only for very short distances, so she will definitely need the help at the airports.

Being present in the present... I like it.

Today I'm thankful for electric blankets and portable radiators. Oh, and let's throw puffy coats and vests in there as well. I love this time of year, even if it has been raining for six days now.

It is now full on knitting weather and I'm planning on taking myself down to group knit night at the yarn store for the first time since, like February. So I'm thankful that there is a group knit night. And I'm thankful that my past self made the effort to sort thru and organize my yarn and needles because I've really been enjoying shopping my own stash. I did have to buy needles this week, but that was because I knew I didn't have that size not because I forgot what I have.

I'm going for the 24 hour fast today... wish me luck. It means no eating until 1pm, which seems do-able, I have a massage appt from 12n to 1:30p which will help get me over the finish line. You can eat high fat/low calorie foods without breaking a fast and I have some avocado on hand if needed.

Hello Ladies!!! I canā€™t believe I am so far behind here! I thought I only missed one day!!!

Tuesdays Topic: I am big on brushing my teeth-that really seems to reset my mind and what I am thinking about with eating things I shouldnā€™tā€¦

Wednesday: Whooohoooo that this week is going fast! So fast I canā€™t believe it!

DHs entire work team is here for a big car show event that is about 1.5 hours from our house and he has been traveling back and forth but tomorrow he leaves for the weekend so it will be DD, me and the pups.

Thankful Thursday: thankful for this gorgeous weather we had today after many many days or pour down rain!

Ugh... really rough night last night. My FitBit sleep score is in the "did you even go to bed" category. Super crampy and sore from the massage, which was intense in some areas. I think it was mostly from low potassium so I've already run down to Safeway and gotten some. The past two days I've been testing taking fewer supplements and have started taking trace minerals, but there are obviously some supplements I do need.

I completed the 24 hour fast but really didn't have proper food on hand to break fast with and eat, which may have contributed to the discomfort last night. So today is a no-fast feed-my-body day, and over the weekend I'll plan out food for next week better, then Mon/Tues I'll do the 24 hours again.

As already mentioned, I'm supper excited about going to the pumpkin farm Sunday. I'll also be going to the nursery in the same area, looking mostly for spring bulbs. Saturday is going to be a stick pretty close to home day with a nice long walk and some house and yard work.

It was abundantly clear based on studentsā€™ behavior that it was a full moon. Wow.

My new principal dropped in for an impromptu observation while I was in the middle of a restorative practice role playing session with my students. Many students were upset by others behavior towards them, and I was coaching them on how to tell their classmates, ā€œStop it! I donā€™t like when you do that!ā€ It was very empowering for them. It was a serendipitous moment for me because my principal was impressed. I even got a complimentary email from her last night.

I finally got an appointment with my asthma specialist for Tuesday at noon. I started trying for Thursday, Friday, and Monday, but Tuesday is her next available appointment. Iā€™m taking Monday off too. I canā€™t stop coughing. It may be bronchitis.

I wanted to chose several different emojis as I read this post. I absolutely get the full moon thing, good for you for impressing your principal, and I hope your lungs feel better with some rest.

That's an interesting way to think about vacation planning, but honestly they all sound good.
Nature
Hotel
Car (thinking about where I'll go in my new car, which I'll have by end of year)
History
a relaxing adventure (just couldn't choose on this one)
Street (but in nature?)
Group
Suitcase (rolling suitcases are a miracle)
Resort
Shopping

I'm really baffled on how a massage could aggravate my left thigh so badly, I don't even remember her working that area very much. It is definitely injured, so I'm really going to have to baby it today: still planning to go down to the beach at low tide but will do more wandering than straight out walking.

I was injured during a massage once from a place I had never been but got a gift certificate for, so I felt obligated to go there. The experience kept me from getting a massage anywhere for a long time. I only get medical massages in my chiropractorā€™s office now. I know that I can trust them.

I'm not a massage person at all, but now I have more reason. Gentle hugs to you both!

Posting this I will say having the kids around makes me have to change several of these from what I would like to what we do....mainly the relax option!
It's been a crazy few days...a fight broke out at DS's dance last night and the whole situation turned onto a poo show. Then I saw a FB post from a woman I went to school with whose teenage child has been missing since Thursday...please send any prayers and positive vibes you can muster for that situation!
