CAST: I (Laura) and DGH (Disney Grumpy Husband)
IN: Jan 2nd, 2005 (Sequoia Lodge)
OUT: Jan 6th, 2005
Dinner time! Our reservation was for King Ludwig Restaurant at the Disney Village
HINT:Almost everybody tries to have dinner 15-30 minutes after park closing. This is the most crowded time for all the restaurants. If you want to have dinner at that time, a reservation is mandatory.
King Ludwig Restaurant
The restaurant is hosted in a replica of a Bavarian castle, with props and furniture of the 19th Century Austrian Empire.
And the food is German too. We both selected a Ludwig's Menu (1 entrée + 1 dessert for 18 Euro). DGH had a disgusting (my view) / excellent (DGH view) Nurnberger Rostbratwurste (sausages on a bed of sauerkraut) while I went for a more traditional Alpine Cheese pasta (German pasta with cheese and fried onions); then I got a typical German Apple strudel and DGH got some sort of elaborated ice cream.
WEDNESDAY 5th of January
Surprise ... weather is still different from CNN forecast ... but today is worse It's raining!
Well ... after all we cannot complain ... three excellent sunny days in Paris during January are quite a luck! So let's try to enjoy the maximum also from this rainy day.
After the usual cold breakfast, we decided to have some inside rides and we went for "It's a small word"; during this period of the year the ride is very nice, with dolls dressed with Christmas attire of the various countries and a theme song which is a medley among the usual theme and traditional Christmas songs.
It's a small word during Christmas
At this point we made a last visit to the Studios. Cinemagique is a nice movie with a real performer interacting outside and inside (the funny Martin Short in this case) the movie; the actor is magically transferred inside the movie and a "black and white" heroine falls in love with him. The actor jumps from movie to movie interacting with well known heroes and trying to survive to some critical situations like the massacre of "Some like it hot" or the sinking of the Titanic, while the heroine follows him trying to save the day. A masterpiece of cinema: the clips of classical movies interact with the new story in a smooth way and the result is really fun...
