Skipper Canteen During Mickey's Not So Scary?

Hi! Have an upcoming trip from August 14 to August 21. Friday, August 16 is the first night of Mickey's Not So Scary and the park closes to non-party guests at 6pm. My wife and I are attending the party on August 20th but still want to enjoy the atmosphere the MK has to offer. Right now, I have a 6:20 PM reservation at Skipper Canteen on Friday, August 16. I thought it would be cool to be in the park as a bit of a teaser preview for the August 20th party. I know after the reservation we would need to exit the park (planning to go grab drinks) but wanted to get sense of everyone's opinion on the dinner reservation. Think this is a bad idea/should we just avoid MK and grab dinner elsewhere? We've never been to Skipper Canteen and are interested in trying out. Thank you!

I know after the reservation we would need to exit the park (planning to go grab drinks) but wanted to get sense of everyone's opinion on the dinner reservation.

You will not be allowed to grab drinks INSIDE the park and you will probably be escorted to the entrance/exit of MK.

Still, you'll be able to get a feel for what's going on as you exit after dinner.

You will be escorted out of the park after your meal.
There will be no enjoying of the atmosphere or buying a drink on you way out.
If you will be at MK all day and not attending the party that evening I would definitely take advantage of being able to stay long enough to eat dinner.
To me that's a better idea than going to dinner at MK on the night you are goi9ng to the party as that would waste party time.

I don't think it's a bad idea. Skipper Canteen is our go-to TS in MK. We really enjoy the food and the atmosphere. We typically eat there on our party nights (we are AP and go to MK early in the day before the party). Just be prepared for a manager to be walking through the restaurant checking guests at each table for party wrist bands. You will not have wrist bands so be prepared to be escorted directly out of the park after dinner. If you are ok with that, then go for it.

Not a bad idea at all.
While you will be asked to leave as soon as you are finished with dinner, you will still get to see a lot of what is going on as you exit.
