I don't think of the SkyAuction surcharges as fees. These are the differential between a low season rate and a higher season rate. You need to add the surcharge to the auction price and compare to other options for your specific dates. If say the auction is $100 and you have a $600 surcharge, can you get that same property anywhere else for under $700? If not, then it is still the best deal around. If this example were for a 2BR villa in a higher-end timeshare resort at $100/nt, I would be all over it like a yellow jacket on a can of Coke.
