Note: The previous version of this thread has been closed and is no longer a sticky. It will remain on the board for reference if needed.
This thread is a place to share information on the smoking policy and designated smoking areas at Disney resorts.
A couple of ground rules:
1. Be respectful. Smoking is a hot topic, but arguments and attacks have no place on this thread. Such posts will be removed, and may result in infractions. Respectful discussion of the smoking policy is fine, but please, keep it civil.
2. This is not a debate thread. If you feel like ranting about how smoking should be banned altogether at WDW or should be allowed everywhere on property, or how e-cigs shouldn’t be treated like cigarettes, send it to wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com instead of posting it here.
Off-topic posts will be removed without comment or notification.
What’s Disney’s policy on smoking at resorts?
Smoking of tobacco, e-cigarettes, or other products that produce smoke or vapor is only permitted in designated smoking areas.
That means no smoking in resort rooms, or on balconies or patios.
Disneyworld.com: Park Rules and Regulations
What happens if I do smoke in my room or on my balcony/patio?
Violations of the smoking policy carry a fine of $250-$500, plus tax, for each occurrence. And no, it’s not just a threat. They really do fine people.
Disneyworld.com: Smoking Policy Enforcement
Seriously? I can’t vape or smoke my e-cig in my room or on my balcony?
Yes, that’s the policy. See the links above.
OK, so where can I smoke at my resort?
See this link for maps of each resort, with designated smoking areas marked.
Resort Maps
I know this is the Resorts board, but where can I find maps of the DSA’s at the theme parks, water parks, and Downtown Disney/Disney Springs?
Check out that resort maps link above. If you scroll up on the page, you’ll find a whole bunch of other maps.
Hope you find this information helpful. Let us know if you think anything needs updating or correcting.
