kids, what do you do with them at night? Do you take them out? Is it safe to? I geuss I am sounding a little paranoid, I like to call it concerned. But we are going to Vegas in April and I am bringing my 10 year old. I'm just not sure if I should have her bring a bunch of stuff to entertain herself at night. NO, she certainly will not be in the room alone. ;) I mean we do plan on doing some stuff at night, such as Freemont St, but with dinners we plan to eat big meals early (to save $$$). I've only been once and that was when I was a lot younger with no dd at the time so you know at that age nothing phases you. But when you are a parent things are different. Hope I'm not sounding too nervous, just like I say concerned for dd. I could certainly handle it, of course but just don't want to ruin it for a 10 year old who is looking forward to going. Thanks for any ideas. popcorn::

Yes it is safe for kids! lasvegaskids.com may give you some ideas , my boys loved the Tournament of Kings shoe at the Excalibur........Lance Burton too....both are very kid friendly.
Excalibur, and Circus circus have the carnival type games for kids.
m&m world is on the strip, another family place.
Let me know what you like to do maybe I can help some more.

Stuff my kids like, that you could do at night:

Star Trek Experience at Las Vegas Hilton
Gameworks arcade at Showcase Mall near MGM Grand
Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay (last admission at 10 pm)
Adventuredome amusement park at Circus Circus
Midway at Circus Circus
Midway at Excalibur
Midway at New York New York
Roller coasters at NYNY, Sahara
Conservatory at Bellagio
Shows - Tournament of Kings, Lance Burton, O, Ka, Mystere, Love, Phantom, Blue Man Group, David Copperfield - my kids have seen all of these
Concerts - check what artists are playing at the bigger arenas at MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay or The Orleans.
Restaurants - Rainforest Cafe at MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood at Forum Shops, Cheesecake Factory at Forum Shops. Or treat her to fine dining. My kids LOVED the Sensi restaurant at Bellagio when we went for Mother's Day last year - and I have boys!
Shopping - is your daughter into shopping? Take her to the Forum Shops at Caesars or the Grand Canal Shops at The Venetian. The M&M store is also a great place.
Movies - there are movie theaters at The Palms and The Orleans and also on the Strip at the Showcase Mall near MGM Grand; also Luxor has an IMAX theater.
Bowling - near the Strip at The Orleans; also The Rio has a tiny bowling alley now (just 10 lanes)

Good Luck!

Thanks for the feedback. I had done some research and decided we will be doing a lot of nongambling/nondrinking things such as: Circus Circus, Stratosphere, Gondulas, Madame Toussauds, Wildlife Habitat, Shark Reef, and Manhattan Express, just to name a few. But David Copperfield sounds like a good show that she would be interested in on top of this. Just glad to know that I don't have to give her a curfew on vacation. Thanks for the ideas. 55 more days to go. :cool1:

Vegas (at least in the touristy areas) is one of the safest places you can visit. No worries there.

Just be prepared for her to be exposed to a bit of the adult world. She'll see billboards with scantily clad showgirls. She might find a handout advertising "girls direct to your room". She will see drunken idiots wandering the streets. Nothing worse than you will see on some TV channels - just be prepared for it.

The other thing to keep in mind is that sidewalks and casinos can get very crowded, people get bumped and disoriented. Again - nothing worse than WDW on a busy day. But do go over with her plans and contingencies in case you get separated.

Thanks for knowing my exact thoughts. I will certainly let her know of the "adult" side of Vegas. And yes, it is unfortunately a lot of what can be seen on television. As far as crowds, yep you get used to those when going to Disney. Thanks again.:cool1:

Honestly at night I would stay away from Circus Circus, and focus on the "strip". Ceasars, Bellagio, Bally's, Planet Hollywood area.
