Some advice on renewing AP

We purchased AP in September of last year and JUST missed the promo for the 13 months. Our pass now expires September 15th. We are headed to the world in a week and are unsure weather or not to renew. We only have one more trip planned in Feb 2018 at this point which used up all of our points for the year (8 nights, 9 days). We will certainly need a park hopper for that trip and memory maker.

The next time we plan to go after Febuary is early October 2018 when our points renew.

If we renew when we go in a week, are they still giving out the extra month promo (this will make sense for us if this will satisfy trip #2 for 2018)?

Also, If we renew now, can we immediately use the water parks for this trip?

Any advice would be appreciated!!! Thank you!!

Is there any chance you would do a 2019 February (or January) trip that is at least 10 days earlier than your 2018 trip? In this scenario, you would get (3) trips off of a full AP by waiting to buy a new AP in Feb 2018. (You would have to buy that Feb 2018 AP before the end of this year to get the DVC PP discount). 3 trips on an AP is probably a better deal if you can schedule like that.


If you renew your AP next week, it would be 13 months: (from All About tickets)
"NOTE: As a special promotion, Guests with an AP renewal date of Sept 30, 2017, or earlier. who renew an AP by Sept 30, 2017 will automatically get an extra month (total of 13 months)
of use on the renewed AP."

If you renew up to the DVC PP level, those water park visits wouldn't be availablu until that pass starts on Sep 15.

If you currently have a DVC gold AP, it would be a $10.65 upgrade to the PP level to get water parks for next week.

With a 9 day trip coming up, I'd probably renew with the 13 month promo if there's a chance of going in Oct 2018... or at least renew one pass (buy regular tickets for others) for memory maker/discounts in February.

If you're not going in Oct 2018 but may go in Jan 2019, like PP said it may be better to wait.
