STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Official Information & Questions Thread

I saw someone say that there's a $350 fee if you drop someone from your reservation, even before the 90 day mark. Does anyone have more details on that? Does that mean if someone in our party isn't sure about coming, we should wait to add them to our room?
I recall there was a $350 fee to drop someone from your reservation, but I don't recall if that was only within the 90 days. My notes had full refund 90 days out, but I do recall dropping/downgrading was a different conversation than cancelling or altering dates. I suggest asking the rep booking you (not the screener) as at least in my case, she was very helpful and patient with me in answering any questions I had. Cancellations/rebooking (changing dates) was 50% penalty from 30-89 days and 100% penalty within 30 days.

I was just on the phone with them so i asked and was told the fee is only after the 90 day mark. Definitely confirm with your booking CM, but the CM i talked to seemed very knowledgable.

Thanks! I'll confirm again when I'm able to book, but that's helpful to know. I'm planning to book a room for myself and a few friends. But given it's for next August, I could see someone needing to drop out.

Success! Had to work all day so couldn't call til 8:30, but got the first CM at 9 and to the specific Galactic Starcruiser booking at 11:30. I was worried they'd be closed and was just discussing with DH whether to hang up when the line started ringing after 2.5 hours of silence.

For those wondering about dates, they said we could book thru end of sept. We ended up on sept 13 in the smaller suite, with captains table on the 14th. A standard room on that date was $4400 for 2 adults and the suite was $5400, so it seems to be a cheaper (ha!) time, which is what we were hoping by picking a midweek sept date. Our total for the suite w taxes and captains table was about 5800.

Now that i typed that amount, I'm going to faint. 😅

Totally makes sense. I also asked about adding friends later and she said we can always do that. (We booked a suite unexpectedly so may try to grab some friends.)

Booked! We’re “sailing” May 2nd. The 4th is still available. It was around $400 more for the 4th over the 2nd. All in with taxes for a family of 4 adults in a standard room with no adds was $6634.32 cash rate AP booking. We’re also dvc but It would have cost 814 points for the booking plus a $95 booking fee. I figure they are valuing at $8.03 per point. My mf’s are higher than that so no thanks. I was trying to see about booking the 3rd with 86 points but dvc was a mess. I was disconnected multiple times after long holds and gave up/tried AP. My successful call was initiated 1pm pst. First portion of call hold had music. 2nd had no music which did make me nervous after the disconnects earlier today. The AP line gave me an estimate of 2 hour hold and It was right around 3 hours.

Btw- we have dvc gold ap renewals from 2019 that are yet to be activated. We did not get an email invitation from AP just dvc email. The rep at AP line did have us all in the system as having eligible AP’s.

i know the cost is crazy but given we’ve missed park visits since 2019 I’m ok splurging a little. They took 20% payment upfront and fully refundable till final payment in February. $82 pp insurance can be purchased up to final payment.

ENJOY YOUR LIFE! Yes it’s crazy expensive but Covid taught us tomorrow isn’t guaranteed enjoy and report back all the details

My family is booked for July 11th, just under the 11:00 p.m. EST/8:00 pm. PST wire (actually, slightly over as I finished I think at 8:10 pm!) I started the morning without the Disney Visa card in hand (I had ordered it the week before and was instantly approved but was notified it takes 7-10 days to get the physical card) but called anyways to see if I could book without having the Disney Visa card activated (or without the CC #) as on the Disney site it did reference that for general bookings (not specific to Starcruiser) that people that got a Disney Card can book trips the day the card was approved. When I got through after 20+ attempts I explained the situation to the screener and he had to ask a supervisor if it was possible and the answer came back as "no", as the down payment needed to be paid with the Disney Visa card.

Luckily received the card at 5:00 p.m. PST, activated it, and promptly called to attempt to book. Maybe I got lucky, but got in right away (rather than the call back later) and had to wait about 20 minutes to talk to the screener. Oddly, the screener didn't ask for my CC so I'm not exactly sure how they verified I was a Disney Visa card holder (I did mention to them I was, so maybe they took my word for it or looked it up by my name.). Once I was verified, the very last thing the screener said was "please wait for a *brief* hold as we get you to a booking specialist." Music came on briefly, followed by a message saying the wait was over 2 hrs, followed by silence. Luckily, I was prepped for this based on all of the great information on this forum, but I was worried that I knew their end of day was in 2 1/2 hours and I wasn't sure if they take everyone in the queue or would just cut off the lines at the close of business. Luckily at 7:50 I heard a ring and the rep took my information and I was booked.

Details: 7/11 departure, 2 adults, 2 teenagers. Galaxy Suite w/insurance $7948 (a standard room would have been $6811.30 as I asked her to price both out.). As my rep implied she saw the hotel first hand, I asked which see suggested and she recommended the Galaxy Suite for the extra comfort/space though said both were great options (my kids actually liked the bed of the standard more than the pull down, but I really wanted a sitting area so I was thrilled the rep recommended the suite 😁 ). We also were able to book the Captain's table for the second night with the 5:30 booking.

The rest of my notes / memory are a bit fuzzy, here are some other notable details.
  • Cancellation/Rebooking Policy: past 90 days no penalty, 50% for 30-89 days, no refund within 30 days. Rebooking means if you change your dates.
  • There was a $350 fee to downgrade/remove a guest, specific details I don't recall but there's others that chimed in on the thread here.
  • Checkin is as early as 1:00, but she said you can get there as early as 11:30 for parking and then go to Disney Spring to shop/etc.
  • There is no automated payment for the remainder of the balance. This apparently is policy for all trips booked for Disney, but as this is my first direct-purchase through Disney I thought that was interesting. So for those of you that may forget, you may want to pay everything up front. You're only required to pay 20% at time of booking. The remainder is due 90 days before departure.
  • Trip insurance can be used to cover the extended trip before/after your hotel, and she suggested you notify them of those details (I didn't have my details as I was planning on building the rest of my trip around the Starcruiser plans.). I don't know the exact details/limits, but she mentioned 7 days before/after (I don't know if that means 14 days total or up to 7 days before or after.)
  • I was provided 3 reservation numbers, one for the booking and one for each dinner reservation.
  • She mentioned 60 days? out someone would contact me regarding the Captains dinner and that if I wanted to book extra stuff I could coordinate with them or reserve it directly through the app.
  • I forgot the mention Magic Bands! I thought these were being phased out for resorts, but the rep mentioned we get hotel-specific magic bands. These aren't getting mailed out, and she mentioned there was no options to customize them.
Good luck!

FWIW, on the $350 change fee topic, this is what the terms/conditions say:

Change Fees and Changes to Reservations Made Prior to Guest Arrival
•
Changes to reservation, including, but not limited to, change in travel dates, party size or accommodations, are subject to availability and the prices applicable at the time the change is requested and guest is responsible for paying any increase in price or third party supplier change fees resulting from the change.
•
If changes are made to the package including, but not limited to, changes to travel dates, package is subject to the Terms and Conditions applicable to packages at the time the change to the reservation is made and, in the case of changes to travel dates, pricing applicable to the new travel dates.
•
Changes in travel dates are not allowed 89 days or less prior to arrival. Changes made to the accommodations or party size may result in a change to your package price and are subject to a $350 change fee per change made 89 days or less prior to arrival. Suppliers may not permit changes in certain situations.
•
Disney reserves the right to restrict changes to any reservation.

Post #2 Roll Call has been updated with all the latest. If I missed you or if you see errors, just let me know. Txs!

BTW, if anyone has a catchy Star Wars related name/reference that we can call the Roll Call list, I'm open to ideas!

i'm getting told i need an email to book as a disney visa card holder. did i call the wrong number? what number are you getting through on without problems?

also, has anyone booked a wheelchair accessible room yet?

I wonder if we'll see Fish Extender groups forming around these sailings? I guess we'll have to see if there is anywhere to even hang something or if they would be allowed.

407 939 5271. That's the phone number in the email. They didn't ask if i got an email, though, just confirmed i had the disney visa by asking for the first 6 digits.

We called 407-939-5277

I never received an email, and they didn’t ask about an email when I booked yesterday. They just verified the card number.

I just checked the booking availability calendar on the website. As of now, it appears that 9 departure dates are already completely sold out. Wow!!

If I am reading the information correctly, the only March departure before 3/19 still available is Wednesday, March 9. Also the departure on May 4 is gone. I have never booked a Disney cruise, so not sure how typical this is compared to that... Does this seem to be selling quickly, slowly, or about average compared to the cruises? [Understanding of course that this is actually quite different from a normal "cruise."]

Has anyone found any good pictures of the Galaxy suites? We're two adults, two teens, and I know the kids would like the berths, just trying to get a better idea of the suite layout, and can't really find much. We can't book till general bookings, but we're looking for August so I'm hoping it should be still available.

I purchased a DVC and an AP this year. All my points are already booked and my AP hasn’t been activated yet. So, I was not able to book during that window. I also have a Disney Visa so I called yesterday. The wait for the first person was 11 minutes. She verified the first 6 digits of my CC number and abruptly transferred me. My next hold was nearly an hour with no hold music. I got through to a lovely gal named Miley who was able to complete my booking. The price after taxes for the room was $7100. I can’t believe we’re doing this. We’ll be there for my sons 13th birthday and it will be so fun! Our cruise date is 3/23!
