I'm proud to be an Iowan today - I cheered when I heard the news in the car this afternoon.
We actually have a pretty decent track record of being a fairly liberal state despite our small town/midwest farmer image, and I am so glad today's ruling continues that trend. The DM Register prints listings of people who apply for marriage licenses in Polk County - when the original ruling came down, only 1 couple was able to get their license, have a ceremony and get the signed license filed at the courthouse before the injuction was placed - but the lists of applicants in the paper for the next week or so were much longer than normal and most of them were same-sex couples. There will be a lot of happy celebrations starting April 24th!
